Thank You Tour
President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence kicked off a “Thank You” tour [Thursday] night with a huge rally in Cincinnati, Ohio. The whole event was incredible.

Where’s the Real Donald Trump?
Somehow, while I was distracted watching the Democrats trying to deal with the first two stages of grief — denial and anger — someone pulled off a switcheroo and exchanged a body and hair double for the actual Donald Trump.

The Gaines’ Pastor Responds to BuzzFeed’s Public Shaming
It’s not exactly clear why BuzzFeed chose to publicly shame Fixer Upper hosts Chip and Joanna Gaines. Nor do we know why the online publication attacked the Christian couple’s church. Maybe author Kate Aurthur got a speeding ticket while driving through Waco, Texas? Or maybe she dislikes shiplap? Or perhaps BuzzFeed simply employs virulent, anti-Christian bigots? We may never know. Regardless, their ugly attack on the Gaines family and Antioch Community Church in Waco cannot be undone.

A Week of Trumpisms
The death of the dictator of Cuba took over our headlines for a few days and made some world leaders look pretty stupid. Canada’s leader Justin Trudeau reacted as if Fidel Castro was a saint to be mourned, not a thug whose death should be celebrated. Our own cool president was careful to not say a negative word about the Left’s evil superhero. Our next president may or may not make America great again with his liberal-conservative mix of ideas and goals, but he sure got St. Fidel right.

No, the Swamp Won’t Be Drained
It wasn’t quite “build the wall” or “lock her up,” but “drain the swamp” was a signature Donald Trump slogan. It evoked visions of pinstripe-suit-wearing influence peddlers getting pulled from their Georgetown cocktail parties en masse and tossed into the Potomac River, as Washington returned to the once-sleepy burg it was 100 years ago, a humbled and more righteous town.

Donald Trump and the Outstate Midwest Redraw the Partisan Lines
Would any Republican besides Donald Trump have beaten Hillary Clinton and been elected the 45th president? It’s an interesting question, not susceptible to a definitive answer but with consequences for politics going forward.

The Bigotry of Liberal America
Hillary Clinton did win the popular vote on Election Day. But that is not how presidential elections work in the United States. The founders were worried about direct democracy and the ability of candidates to ignore small states if direct democracy was used. The Electoral College serves a very important purpose. It prohibits candidates from just focusing on major metropolitan areas along the nation’s coasts.

After a Mere 25 Years, the Triumph of the West Is Over
Twenty-five years ago — December 1991 — communism died, the Cold War ended and the Soviet Union disappeared. It was the largest breakup of an empire in modern history and not a shot was fired. It was an event of biblical proportions that my generation thought it would never live to see. As Wordsworth famously rhapsodized (about the French Revolution), “Bliss was it in that dawn to be alive/ But to be young was very heaven!”

You Opposed Donald Trump, So Why Aren’t You Freaking Out?
Well, for starters, allowing liberals to determine my level of anxiety — which would be full-blown, round-the-clock histrionics — over what’s nothing more than another election would be foolish. Until it’s not. The era of Trump hasn’t even started yet, and the entire establishment keeps using the term “era of Trump” as if things have actually changed. They haven’t. If you’re genuinely interesting in being an effective critic of the next president, acting like Adolf Hitler is pounding at your doorstep every time Trump tweets something might not be the most effective plan in the long run.

It’s Obama, Not the American People, Who Won’t Listen
You have to give President Barack Obama credit for one thing: consistency. Nothing is ever his fault. Nothing will ever be his fault. Faulting Fox News and the American people, on the other hand, now that’s a different story.

Immigration as a Weapon
Monday’s attack in Columbus, Ohio, by a Somali Muslim whose family migrated to Pakistan and then to America once again demonstrates that we are not adequately vetting immigrants. This is not an insignificant issue.

Don’t Fall Prey to Bear Propaganda
It’s time for an open and frank national conversation about bear propaganda. Having grown up in New York City, I had not been made aware of the problem until fairly late in life. This was remedied by my lovely wife, who grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska, where bears are not an abstraction. In policy terms, I was an idealist and she was a realist.

Fidel Castro: 60 Years of Fake News
A panic is sweeping the land — or at least something like it has unnerved CNN, Vox and other precincts of progressive sensibility. They are alarmed that millions of Americans are being misled by “fake news.”

Check Your Soul at ‘The Daily Show’
Liberals in the press have spent weeks trashing “fake news” purveyors — which is to say, those in the press who are not liberals — while continuing to bow deeply to the fake newsmakers at “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central. Jon Stewart and New York Magazine writer Chris Smith have written a new book called “The Daily Show (The Book): An Oral History as Told by Jon Stewart, the Correspondents, Staff and Guests,” and they’re the toast of Leftyville.

Exclusive: What If the Convicted ‘Serial Rapist Cop’ Is Innocent?
Former Oklahoma City police officer Daniel Holtzclaw’s emotional breakdown went viral one year ago this week in the worst way possible. He became a national punching bag when a jury convicted him on 18 of 36 counts of sexual assault-related crimes against eight black women. His sentence: 263 years. But what if he didn’t do it — any of it?

No Pain, No Gaines
Bullying Christians may be a favorite strategy of the Left — but it’s not necessarily an effective one. Chip and Joanna Gaines of HGTV’s popular show “Fixer Upper” may be sending that message without ever opening their mouths! In what can only be described as a politically motivated witch hunt, BuzzFeed posted a non-story about how the fan-favorites attend a church where it’s apparently news that the pastor preaches straight out of the Bible.

King Trump vs. We the People
On Nov. 8, 2016, Americans across our great land went to the polls to select their choice for president, and Donald Trump prevailed. His brazen, unorthodox, “lay it all out there” style attracted the votes of millions of frustrated, disenchanted and angry citizens who felt their government had abandoned them and its “long train of abuses” were becoming insufferable.

‘Fixer Upper’ Stars Under Fire for Attending Evangelical Church
The mainstream media and militant LGBT activists are unleashing their fury over reports the Gaines family attends Antioch Community Church, a non-denominational megachurch.

Commerce & Treasury Picks
The Trump transition team [yesterday] announced the selections of Wilbur Ross and Steve Mnuchin as Commerce and Treasury secretaries. Both men have extensive business backgrounds and greatly compliment Trump’s commitment to revitalize the American economy.

Kellogg’s Signals Bran New Day of Bias
HGTV stars Chip and Joanna Gaines were just on the cover of People magazine — and now, they’re the face of something else: a controversy over the fact that their pastor preaches the Bible. For the last few years, the Texas couple has charmed their way into people’s hearts — not just with their talent for renovation, but with their sweet and genuine relationship. Their show “Fixer Upper” has exploded in popularity, and the parents of four have never shied away from their faith — which they’ve talked about at length in their books and interviews.
