Donald Trump is a persistent critic of the media and is attacked for not granting them enough access. But three days after the election, there he was, the president-elect, recording a long interview with Lesley Stahl of CBS’ “60 Minutes,” whom he could expect to push, push, push from the left.

On the Saturday night after Donald Trump’s stunning presidential victory over Hillary Clinton, “Saturday Night Live” decided to forego its mandate — humor — in favor of a full-on political wake. Kate McKinnon, who has done a creditable job mocking Clinton for most of this election cycle, led off the show with a full rendition of the recently deceased Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” There were zero laughs and plenty of delicious, delicious celebrity tears.

Foul-Mouthed, Anti-Trump Professor Accosts U.S. Senator on Hiking Trail
Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) was hiking in the woods near his home in Chattanooga, enjoying the outdoors, minding his business, when he was accosted by a foul-mouthed anti-Donald Trump Biology professor.
The War on Election Integrity
Shirley Anne Conners, aka Faragalli, was arrested last week. A Canadian citizen living in this country illegally, she had voted in more than 20 elections — including the April presidential primary in New York.
America Is Not a Safe Space
Pity the anti-Trump protesters thronging the streets of American cities. Apparently, no one ever told them that they live in a geographically, economically and ideologically varied nation, and that about half of its inhabitants might support a Republican candidate for president. They mistook the country for the campus of Oberlin College.
The New Key to Immigration Reform: More High-Skilled Immigrants
One of the issues President-elect Donald Trump says he wants Congress to act on is immigration. That’s not entirely surprising, given that he spotlighted just that issue, in incendiary terms, after gliding down that escalator in the Trump Tower and announcing he was running 17 months ago.
Early Signals
President-elect Donald Trump is being very astute in his initial personnel decisions. He knows he will face fierce resistance from the media and the DC establishment. He also knows he cannot be at war with both the Democrats and Republicans in Congress. With that in mind, Trump selected Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus to be White House Chief of Staff.
Advising the President-Elect
It didn’t take long. Journalists, editorial writers and columnists who hate Donald Trump and consistently opposed his election are now advising him what not to do. Newspaper headlines claim Trump is pulling back on his campaign promises. Editorials encourage him not to do everything he pledged, although his pledges are what got him elected. The ACLU bought a full-page ad in The New York Times, vowing to use its army of lawyers and volunteers to thwart Trump’s agenda.
What Now?
The good news is that we dodged a bullet in this election. The bad news is that we don’t know how many other bullets are coming, or from what direction. A Hillary Clinton victory would have meant a third consecutive administration dedicated to dismantling the institutions that have kept America free, and imposing instead the social vision of the smug elites. That could have been the ultimate catastrophe — not just for our time, but for generations yet unborn.
Planned Parenthood Braces for Cut-astrophe
When Congress gets back to work today, their schedule is more stuffed than a Thanksgiving turkey. After six weeks on the campaign trail, the House and Senate left plenty to do in the holiday frenzy — including keeping the government funded past December 9, when the latest spending resolution runs out.
Left-Wing Jews Are Embarrassing Judaism
A highly respected American rabbi named Dr. Irving “Yitz” Greenberg used to tell American Jewish audiences, whether Reform, Conservative Orthodox, “I don’t care what denomination you’re a member of, as long as you’re ashamed of it.” I have adopted that phrase, and I apply it to religions generally. One could just as easily say to Catholics, Protestants and Muslims, “I don’t care what religion you identify with, as long as you’re ashamed of it.” Meaning, of course, you’re ashamed of what many of its members have done to it.

Why Were the Presidential Polls Wrong?
The election-night coverage of the 2016 vote began with images of the Clinton campaign team gathering in the Javits Center — under the symbolic glass ceiling. Hillary Clinton supporters were enthusiastic, upbeat, and expectant. The polls gave them every reason to expect that America was electing her as the country’s first female president. There’s just this one little detail, however: the polls were wrong, and the party never happened.
