Syrian Refugees = English Pilgrims, Says Obama
At least he had something positive to say about Christian pilgrims.

Obama’s Citizenship Push for Immigrants the Focus of New Judicial Watch Lawsuit
Further proof that the Obama administration is a menace to the rule of law, our nation's security, and our republican form of government can be found in the background behind just one new Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit. Judicial Watch attorneys filed the lawsuit last month to obtain records related to letters sent by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to current green card holders, urging individuals to become naturalized U.S. citizens prior to the 2016 election.

Obama’s Unilateral Immigration Amnesty Plan Gets to the Supreme Court
On Friday, the U.S. Justice Department filed a 35-page petition asking the U.S. Supreme Court to review Texas v. U.S., the case filed by 26 states against President Obama's immigration amnesty plan. The government is appealing a preliminary injunction that stopped implementation of Obama's amnesty plan, which was issued by a federal district court and upheld by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals on Nov. 9.

Drug Smugglers Flow Across Our Border, Syrian Christians Don't
Who should Americans see as worthier candidates for entering our country? Syrian Christians fleeing persecution — and possible beheading by the Islamic State — or smugglers moving drugs across our Mexican border? Under existing U.S. law, a Christian fleeing from regions in Syria threatened or controlled by the Islamic State could claim asylum here. A smuggler moving drugs across our border has no justification at all.

Paris, Brussels, and 21st Century Europe
Some time ago a former student emailed me a video clip that I now show my Major European Governments course. It's a five-minute news piece by Dale Hurd of CBN News, a conservative Christian outlet — the rare kind of place where you see reports like this. The piece was on radical Islam in Europe, specifically in Belgium, and it was based on Hurd's interview with a Muslim leader in Brussels, the very heart of modern Europe, of secular Europe, of the European Union, and of everything Islamic fundamentalists despise about Europe.

Stop the Bleeding
There was a painful irony when France's immediate response to the terrorist attacks in Paris was to close the borders. If they had closed the borders decades ago, they might have avoided this attack. Someone once said that the First World War was the most stupid thing that European nations ever did. Countries on both sides of that war ended up worse off than before, whether they were on the winning side or the losing side.

Obama Can't Rewrite Immigration Law, Even for the Better
During a speech about immigration in Chicago last November, President Obama was interrupted by hecklers demanding that he stop deporting illegal aliens. "You're absolutely right that there have been significant numbers of deportations," Obama replied. "But what you're not paying attention to is the fact that I just took action to change the law."

The Myth of H-1B Job Creation
Every day brings new headlines, ignored by the Washington press corps, of U.S. workers losing their livelihoods to cheap H-1B visa replacements. Just this week, Computerworld reported: "Fury and fear in Ohio as IT jobs go to India." Yet, it remains an article of faith among Big Business flacks and Beltway hacks that H-1B not only protects American jobs, but also fuels miraculous job growth.
Could a Sanctuary City Supporter Head Border Patrol?
We can't think of a more unqualified candidate.

Will Five Justices Give One Man Control of U.S. Immigration Law?
President Barack Obama told the truth — perhaps by accident — when he spoke last November at a Chicago community center. Hecklers shouted at him for not doing enough, in their view, to stop deportations. He responded by defending his new policy. "I understand you may disagree. But we've got to be able to talk honestly about these issues. All right?" said Obama, according to the White House transcript.

Obamnesty Falls Apart. American Workers Win.
Well, this should make the crapweasels in D.C. listen. On Monday, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals told the immigration power-grabbers in the Obama administration to stuff it. The amnesty sympathizers in the media mourned mightily. "Appeals court rules against Obama's plan to protect about 5 million people from deportation," the Associated Press spun. "Court again blocks Obama's plan to protect undocumented migrants," the left-wing U.K. Guardian decried.

Marco Rubio's Immigration Problem
Marco Rubio has a dubious distinction among the top-tier Republican presidential candidates: He's the only one who crafted and passed through the Senate a so-called comprehensive immigration reform that is anathema to the right. As Rubio has demonstrated considerable political strength, the spotlight has turned to him. Inevitably, his role as frontman for the "Gang of Eight" bill will get extensively relitigated — and it should.

Cruel Apprentice Where the Boss Is Fired
It seems Jobs "Rn't" Theirs at Toys "R" Us. Breitbart News uncovered a particularly flagrant example of H—1B visa abuse at Toys "R" Us. The story is particularly timely in the wake of the exchange between Donald Trump and Marco Rubio at the CNBC Inquisition. Rubio wants to greatly expand usage of the H—1B visa program that ostensibly brings in foreign workers to do jobs Americans are not qualified to perform. Rubio justifies his support with the rationalization that if there are abuses, those companies shouldn't be allowed to participate in the program.

OK, Who Ordered the Mexican Heroin?
Heroin use in the United States increased by nearly 80 percent between 2007 and 2012 alone, and The New York Times' main reaction to this depressing fact is to be overjoyed that the new addicts are mostly white. The important point is not that ragingly addictive drugs are sweeping small-town America, young lives are being cut short, or that we lost one of the most talented actors of his generation to a heroin overdose. What matters is that that the drug epidemic is not having a disparate impact.
