Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire
Joe Biden seems to be the poster boy for Thomas Jefferson’s description of a liar.
Apparently, we have become so desensitized to the lack of moral character and integrity in elected officials that we hardly notice when they lie to us with a straight face. They assume we won’t notice or, worse, not care.
The latter is of great concern to me. In 1785, Thomas Jefferson made note of his concern regarding lying:
It is of great importance to set a resolution, not to be shaken, never tell an untruth. There is no vice so mean, so contemptible; and he who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world’s believing him. This falsehood of the tongue leads to that of the heart, and in time depraves all its good disposition.
Anyone come to mind? I don’t know about you, but Joe Biden seems to be the poster boy for Jefferson’s description of a liar. Who can believe our current president? Not the Afghanis, who were told by Biden they wouldn’t be left behind. Not the Israelis, whose backs he said he had. Not the American taxpayers, who were told their taxes wouldn’t go up if they made less than $400,000 a year. Not the center-right Americans who were told that Biden would be everyone’s president, whether you voted for him or not.
Lying is second nature to him. He lies without thinking about it. For example: His uncle was eaten by cannibals. He drove an 18-wheeler. He was raised in a Puerto Rican, Black, and/or Greek community. He’s a noted civil rights marcher and spent more time in a black church than blacks did. I could write a series of articles trying to document all of his lies, but the Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) continually give him a pass.
If you’re a Patriot Post reader, you already know this. But there are a vast number of Americans who, unfortunately, get their news from the mainstream media. There’s good and bad to this — good because their readers/listeners are shrinking each year, but bad because there are still too many who simply believe the lies without question.
This remains a concern to every patriotic American who wants to see this country remain a free Republic. The abuse of power by this administration grows more brazen every day, such as using the Justice Department to punish political enemies.
Furthermore, our allies don’t trust us and our enemies don’t fear us. The Taliban didn’t think Biden would stand behind the Afghan government; they were right. Vladimir Putin didn’t think Biden would stop his invasion of Ukraine; he was right. Iran didn’t think Biden would stand ironclad behind Israel; it was right. Does Chinese President Xi Jinping think this might be a good time to invade Taiwan? Inquiring minds want to know.
It’s bad enough when we regular people can’t be trusted; when our word is of no value because of our lack of character and integrity. But when the leader of the free world — the nation called to be a shining light and a city on a hill — lies brazenly and often, the consequences can be catastrophic globally.
Barack Obama was right: Elections have consequences. Remember that in November.
Something to pray about!
