Nate Van Winkle Returns in Time for the DNC
Joe Biden will exit stage left and Kamala Harris will officially take over.
Well, I’m back from a once-in-20-years four-week sabbatical. What did I mi…
Oh.
First, I’d like to thank our team for making it possible for me to enjoy a much-needed hiatus. I celebrated 20 years at The Patriot Post in April, and it was time for a break. Now I’m recharged and ready for the battles ahead.
That said, walking back into the office today after four weeks of not paying much attention to the news felt a bit like Rip Van Winkle waking from a long nap. If it’s possible, things are even more bizarre than they were in July.
Less than 48 hours after I left, Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race (as we expected). Kamala Harris immediately jumped in as Biden’s replacement, which had been determined by the coup plotters months ago. As a torrent of pent-up cash came flooding in, the Leftmedia promptly began with a whitewash of her record as border czar followed by a full-court press to shame Americans into voting for her lest we all be branded sexists and racists. That may well propel her to victory.
Still, the First Female of Color picked some pasty old white dude — Minnesota Governor Tim Walz — to be her running mate, and his primary “qualification” seems to be a serious case of stolen valor. Then there’s the whole White Dudes for Kamala thing. Good grief.
Meanwhile, the Olympics were a hash of left-wing insanity, complete with a sacrilegious opening ceremony and XY individuals winning women’s boxing gold medals. Just saying the latter could land people like Elon Musk and J.K. Rowling in jail. What a strange planet.
Last week, Harris pitched price controls straight out of Soviet Russia, and today in Chicago, the Democratic National Convention kicks off — complete with radical protests, boarded-up businesses, and a president who opted not to run for reelection.
What, did I wake up in 1968?
No, it’s definitely 2024 because some of the Chicago shenanigans are too crazy even for the “free love” devotees of the ‘60s. Many of the folks wandering the streets of the Windy City are either dressed up as abortion pills (costumes designed by “RuPaul’s Drag Race” personnel) or taking those pills at one of the free dispensaries all over town. Street-vender vasectomies are also an option, which shows that the sex-and-death cult is all too alive.
Biden will give the keynote address tonight, not to “finish the job” but pass the torch to his sidekick. He’ll almost certainly read the same outright lies he’s peddled for the last three-plus years, such as that he created 15 millions jobs, helped the middle class, and unified a divided country.
Democrats will wildly applaud and shed tears of appreciation for this modern George Washington because he’s “voluntarily” giving up power.
Never mind the decidedly undemocratic coup that ousted him from power while leaving him in office for another six months. Never mind that no one actually loves or admires Joe Biden except Jill Biden, the woman from whose desperate clutches power has been so unceremoniously ripped. He’ll be remembered more like Lyndon B. Johnson, a president who grossly expanded the federal government and earned the corresponding unpopularity.
And then he’ll almost certainly return to witness protection, where he’s been hiding for the last four weeks. (He actually is leaving for another family vacation on Tuesday.) Democrats will pretend they’ve never heard of him or his policies — which Kamala is somehow going to both continue and undo. They’ll act as if they have amnesia, that Harris has not been vice president for more than 1,300 days, bearing a lot of responsibility for the policies that wrecked our economy and standing in the world.
Aside from Biden’s speech tonight and Harris’s big nomination acceptance speech Thursday, the DNC will be “treated” to Hillary Clinton tonight, Barack and Michelle Obama on Tuesday, and Nancy Pelosi and Tim Walz on Wednesday.
It should be an entertaining week as the 2024 election silly season kicks into high gear. I couldn’t have returned at a better time.
