ICC Haters Target Israel
The International Criminal Court’s arrest warrants for the Israeli prime minister underscore the need for national sovereignty.
The International Criminal Court once again reminded Americans why we are a sovereign nation. In fact, the ICC reminded the whole world why nation-states exist.
When the ICC, from its offices in The Hague, issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense minister, Yoav Gallant, it demonstrated the inherent corruption and anti-Semitic sympathies within the organization itself.
Is there no just war in the eyes of the ICC? That seems to be the case whenever the nation of Israel acts to defend itself against the murderous actions of jihadi terrorists. Adding insult to injury, the ICC also included an arrest warrant for the presumed-dead Hamas leader, Mohammed Deif, a ridiculous stunt asserting false equivalency between the two leaders.
Deif was a terrorist thug who not only relished attacking and murdering innocent Israeli civilians; he also intentionally positioned his forces among Palestinian civilians so as to maximize their deaths when Israel inevitably responded.
Netanyahu is a leader defending his nation from enemies who have repeatedly expressed their desire to wipe Israel off the map. He is eliminating a ruthless enemy that has demonstrated its willingness to murder innocents if given the opportunity.
Despite the anti-Semitic equivocation from those on the Left, Israel’s war against Hamas, Hezbollah, and ultimately Iran is about as black and white as conflicts get. The Israelis are the good guys, and the jihadists are the bad guys. It really is that simple.
The ICC is blinded by the anti-Semitism that has been growing in the West. That’s why it has ridiculously charged Netanyahu with “crimes against humanity and war crimes” for having “intentionally and knowingly deprived the civilian population in Gaza of objects indispensable to their survival, including food, water, and medicine and medical supplies, as well as fuel and electricity.”
Evidently, the ICC doesn’t know what war is or how it is conducted. Unfortunately, in war, civilians often get caught in the middle, especially when one side insists on hiding behind women and children, as Hamas literally does. Furthermore, Israel’s engagement in this war and concern for protecting the lives of innocent civilians is one of the most humane and ethical in the history of warfare. The Jewish state has gone out of its way to protect innocent human life while still going after the enemy.
New York-based Israeli Consul General Ofir Akunis responded to the ICC’s warrants, stating: “What is the message to Hamas? What is the message in accordance with the hostages deal? By the way, there is a negotiation in Tel Aviv right now about the Lebanon issue, and I think that the message that the ICC sent this morning actually to Hezbollah and to Hamas and to the others is that it’s okay to attack Israel, it’s okay maybe to initiate another October 7 massacre.”
It’s actions like this that underscore why the U.S. is not a member of the ICC. And now that the ICC has shown its anti-Semitic bias, congressional Republicans are calling for sanctions to be raised against it. As Representative Michael Waltz (R-FL), who will soon be Donald Trump’s national security advisor, stated, “The ICC has no credibility, and these allegations have been refuted by the U.S. government. Israel has lawfully defended its people and borders from genocidal terrorists. You can expect a strong response to the antisemitic bias of the ICC and UN come January.”
Fortunately, the majority of America still rejects the ICC as anything but a wannabe court. May it stay that way.
