Arsonist sets PA governor’s residence ablaze, Mahmoud Khalil can be deported, AOC’s first-class hypocrisy, and more.
Pennsylvania governor flees mansion after arsonist sets it ablaze: Around 2:00 a.m. Sunday, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro was awakened by a state trooper assigned to his detail with a warning that he and his family needed to evacuate because the building was on fire. Police have a suspect in custody, and prosecutors are looking at charges of attempted homicide and aggravated arson, as well as terrorism. Reported comments about the suspect include “harboring hatred” for Shapiro and planning to beat Shapiro with a hammer. Shapiro, obviously rattled, spoke from the steps of the burned-out mansion, denouncing this crime and other such criminal actions that he says are becoming all too common in our country.
Mahmoud Khalil can be deported: On Friday, U.S. Immigration Judge Jamee Comans ruled that the Trump administration had met the burden of proof against anti-Israel activist Mahmoud Khalil and could deport him. Comans agreed with DHS attorneys that Khalil would have been “inadmissible at the time of his adjustment” due to his “fraud or willful misrepresentation of material fact” in his permanent residency application. In his application, Khalil failed to mention that he had worked for the British embassy in Beirut, had worked with the Hamas-supporting UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, and that he was a member of Columbia University Apartheid Divest, an anti-Israel activist organization. Secretary of State Marco Rubio pointed to the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 as granting the government the authority to deport noncitizens it deemed to “have serious adverse foreign policy consequences.”
Trump’s in great health, says medical exam: Donald Trump is in “excellent cognitive and physical health,” stated the White House on Sunday as it revealed the results of a physical exam the president took on Friday. Dr. Sean Barbabella, who conducted the exam, said, “President Trump remains in excellent health, exhibiting robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical function.” Barbabella noted that Trump’s “active lifestyle continues to contribute significantly to his well-being” and he “is fully fit to execute the duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.” Trump’s exam report runs in stark contrast to the Biden administration’s handling of Joe Biden’s obviously declining mental acuity, as they refused to allow an independent medical exam of Biden while claiming that he took “a full neurological test every day.”
Study finds sanctuary cities flood streets with criminals: The Center for Immigration Studies has released a chilling report on the behavior of the Democrats’ beloved “sanctuary cities.” ICE would send a request for illegal aliens who were arrested for crimes to be held until agents could take custody and deport the criminal, but these sanctuary jurisdictions declined to do so. In 2023, there were 6,769 “declined detainers,” 10,127 in 2024, and 8,387 so far in 2025. These migrants have committed crimes other than illegally crossing the border — 72 had homicide convictions or charges. Nearly 3,000 were released from the Santa Clara County Jail in California, with other releases coming from Cook County, Illinois, Fairfax County, Virginia, and other Democrat strongholds. Trump said it best: “No more Sanctuary Cities! They protect the Criminals, not the Victims.”
New Joint Chiefs chairman: By a 60-25 vote, the Senate on Friday confirmed Lt. Gen. Dan “Razin” Caine as the new chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Caine’s confirmation comes two months after Donald Trump fired Gen. CQ Brown from the position in his ongoing effort to weed out the inherently racist DEI ideology from the federal government. Caine graduated from the Virginia Military Institute and served in the Air Force as a pilot, doing two tours in Iraq. He also served as the CIA’s associate director for military affairs and commanded air defense in Washington, DC, following 9/11. Caine had to be reinstated to active duty and promoted to four-star general to become chairman, but Trump has thought highly enough of him for years that he made it happen.
Correction: Caine graduated from the Virginia Military Institute, not the Virginia Military Academy, as erroneously stated.
- AOC’s first-class hypocrisy: It’s not our words that define us but our actions. This is why a simple thing like AOC flying first class to a “Fight Oligarchy” rally reeks of hypocrisy. Her website still has a page dedicated to her Green New Deal, with the mission of defeating climate change. If inequality and climate change are your two big issues, shouldn’t you fly coach or avoid flying altogether? The fact is, climate change and the focus on wealth inequality are useful political tools for Bernie Sanders and AOC, not heartfelt convictions. Exit question: Did AOC’s luggage contain her “Tax the Rich” dress?
Crockett probed by FEC: Rep. Jasmine Crockett is seen by some as a rising star in the Democrat Party. She certainly hasn’t shied away from blasting the Trump administration, even though most of her claims are short on facts. Crockett’s habit of dealing dishonestly may be catching up to her. Earlier this month, the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) was notified by the conservative Coolidge-Reagan Foundation with allegations that Crockett had engaged in both voter intimidation as well as fraudulent donations via the Democrat fundraising outfit ActBlue. In response, the FEC opened an investigation into the matter. A 73-year-old donor reportedly gave 53 donations to Crockett’s campaign totaling $595 via the ActBlue portal. However, the donor’s wife knew nothing of these donations, which seems to follow a similar pattern to other Crockett campaign donations.
Democrats’ judge-shopping exposed: An analysis of 96 legal challenges against Trump administration actions has revealed what we all expected — these are politically motivated challenges and rulings. Sixty-two challenges have been brought to judges appointed by Democrat administrations, while 14 more cases have come before judges who were not political appointees. Only 20 cases were brought before judges appointed by Republican administrations. Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett discussed this and highlighted the issue with these restraining orders and injunctions that are being used to roadblock the Trump administration: “They’re ordered by Democrat-appointed judges exceeding their authority, contorting the law to do it.” That’s the core of the issue. The Supreme Court put some limits on these injunctions, ruling that deportation cases should be brought to the district where the deportee is being held.
