How Racial Politics and Marxist Ideals Failed on Black Friday and Cyber Monday

The blackout boycott missed the mark entirely. Sales figures illustrate that Americans, regardless of race, are eager to participate in a thriving economy.

The recent blackout boycott on Black Friday and Cyber Monday serves as a glaring example of how some activists, particularly those within certain black pastor communities, are attempting to divide America through racial politics and Marxist economic tactics. Instead of uniting people around shared values and economic opportunities, these activists are fostering division and resentment. This approach not only detracts from the real issues at hand but also undermines the progress that can be achieved through unity and constructive dialogue.

This year, Black Friday sales reached an astonishing $11.8 billion, a 9.1% increase from last year, according to Adobe Analytics. Cyber Monday also broke records with $14.2 billion in online sales. These figures illustrate that Americans, regardless of race, are eager to participate in a thriving economy. Yet, the blackout boycott aimed to protest what some perceive as corporate greed, missing the mark entirely. Instead of harnessing economic empowerment, these activists are pushing a narrative that promotes victimhood and divides communities.

There is a troubling trend among some black pastors who have aligned themselves with radical leftist ideologies, seeking to frame economic disparities through a racial lens. This tactic is reminiscent of Marxist principles that seek to create class struggle and division rather than fostering individual success and opportunity. It’s essential to recognize that the majority of Americans, including many in the black community, want to see progress that is not predicated on division and resentment.

While concerns about rising prices and economic uncertainty are valid — evidenced by quieter in-store traffic — these realities do not justify the divisive tactics employed by some activist leaders. Instead of promoting a sense of solidarity and collective progress, they have opted for a strategy that alienates potential allies and diminishes the achievements of those who strive for success through hard work and perseverance.

The economic policies established during President Trump’s administration have proven effective in creating opportunities for growth and prosperity. Tax cuts, deregulation, and job creation have empowered Americans to invest in their futures. These policies have helped the economy remain steady during turbulent times, allowing citizens to engage confidently in holiday shopping. The record sales we’ve seen are a testament to this resilience and the potential for a united America.

It’s time to reject these tactics and focus on building bridges, not walls. True progress comes from empowering individuals, fostering shared values, and rejecting the narratives that seek to divide us along racial and economic lines.
