Rangel: ‘Our Community’s 9/11’
Non compos mentis.
Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) took the building explosion in Harlem very hard. “I’ve never had anything this horrific that’s happened in my community since I’ve been in Washington,” he said. “This is a very serious thing. It’s our community’s 9/11.” Rangel represents Harlem, which is in New York, so his “my community” division seems a bit gratuitous. And we don’t at all mean to disrespect the seven people killed or 70 injured (nine are still missing), but the scale and the cause are just not even in the ballpark with 9/11. We therefore must award Rangel the “Non Compos Mentis” Award for the week.
