SCOTUS Won’t Hear NM Case
Elane Photography loses again.
The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear the case of the New Mexico photographer who objected to shooting a same-sex wedding on free speech grounds. Elaine Huguenin argued and lost before the New Mexico Supreme Court that her business should not be forced to create speech with which she objects for religious reasons. Gaining a Supreme Court hearing requires the consent only four justices, so it’s especially disturbing that the New Mexico court’s ruling will be allowed to stand without her appeal having a hearing. That’s even with the Religious Freedom Restoration Act on the books at the federal level. It’s the brave new world we live in where service and speech will be compelled as long as it serves the homosexual agenda.
