Reid Says ‘Stamp Out Bigotry’
NFL should follow NBA’s lead.
After the NBA banned LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling for his racist comments, Harry Reid wants the NFL to take a play out of the NBA’s book and “stamp out bigotry in its ranks” by forcing the Washington Redskins to change their name. “Since [Redskins owner Dan] Snyder fails to show any leadership,” Reid says, “the National Football League should take an assist from the NBA and pick up the slack – it would be a slam dunk. I believe [NFL Commissioner] Roger Goodell is a good man, but it’s time for this good man to act: Remove this hateful term from your league’s vocabulary.” That’s a fine lesson from the man who thinks people rallying in Nevada are “domestic terrorists,” and who once referred to Barack Obama as a “light skinned” African-American “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.” Somebody should stamp out his bigotry.
