Global Warming’s Next Victim
Scientists work to save poultry.
You can’t make this stuff up. The Los Angeles Times ran a report over the weekend on a group of scientists working to develop global warming resistant poultry. And the project is at least partially taxpayer funded, of course. According to the Times, “research involves turning up the heat lamps several degrees on hundreds of turkey chicks, as well as on turkey eggs before they hatch. Researchers will then study the animals’ muscles and attempt to parse out genes that could help the animals endure hotter environments. The hope is ultimately to enable the industry to breed turkeys resilient to heat waves.” This idea sounds about as good as alarmists’ plans to regulate cow farts.
