Evidence of Syrian Weapons
That bright red line.
Only the type of gas floating across the battlefields and cities of Syria has changed. Syria has a June 30 deadline to remove chemical weapons from its country, a deadline it will almost surely break. But France, Israel and now the U.S. say civilians were attacked using chlorine, a chemical countries can stockpile but can’t use in war. “I have seen evidence,” Secretary of State John Kerry said. “But I’ve seen the raw data that suggests that there may have been, as France has suggested, a number of instances in which chlorine has been used in the conduct of war. If it has, and if it could be proven, then that would be against the agreements of the chemical weapons treaty, against the weapons convention that Syria has signed up to.” Say, what ever happened to Obama’s bright red line?
