Moving Military Bases
Rising water, y’all.
Barack Obama’s senior adviser on preparedness and resilience said the military might need to move its bases before the waters rise and the typhoons rage thanks to all that climate change. Hill said, “If our key military bases were severely damaged by extreme weather or if they’re just threatened by sea level rise so that we have to be thinking, ‘Where are we going to move them?’” This reeks of an eminent domain land grab because we’ve heard this rhetoric 10 years ago.
