Bush Remains Silent
Won’t criticize Obama.
As Iraq falls apart and the entire Middle East is in chaos, there’s one person who has nothing to say publicly: former President George W. Bush. Since leaving office, he has maintained a policy of silence regarding policy and the actions of his successor. He knows nothing helpful would come of it, for one thing, but he also has a sincere respect for the office that other former inhabitants have not shown. However, his communications director, Freddy Ford, did say, “President Bush has vowed not to criticize his successor and does not have a comment.” He’s following Thumper’s rule from Disney’s “Bambi” – “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all.”
