Obama Admin 'Greatest Enemy to Press Freedom in a Generation'

In 2006, New York Times reporter James Risen published a book called “State of War.” The Daily Caller reports the book “included classified information about a failed CIA plot against Iran’s nuclear program. In 2008, George W. Bush’s Department of Justice subpoenaed Risen to reveal the source of the classified information. Citing his role as a journalist, Risen refused to comply, fighting the subpoena until it expired in 2009.” Once Barack Obama came to power, the Leftmedia in general thought it had a free pass and was entering nirvana. Far from it. The Obama administration renewed the subpoena and Risen is now out of legal options after an unfavorable ruling. He criticized the White House for its adversarial stance against the press, saying, “A lot of people … don’t want to believe that Obama wants to crack down on the press and whistleblowers. But he does. He’s the greatest enemy to press freedom in a generation.” How could he? The press is on his side. That’s why they’re so distraught. More…
