If Britain Were a State, Its GDP Would Rank…
Sure, the British can laugh over their cups of tea about how they burned the White House 200 years ago, but look how far we’ve come. One Brit over at The Spectator by the name of Fraser Nelson crunched some numbers and discovered if Britain ever crawled to the U.S. and asked to become the 51st state (If the Left doesn’t first award the District of Columbia with the smallest state ever award) its Gross Domestic Product would rank down with Mississippi, currently the poorest state in the Union. But Nelson’s numbers might not be totally correct. According to Forbes, which checked Nelson’s math, the once-Great Britain has a smaller GDP than Mississippi, which gives us the reason to sip our coffee, reassured in our Founding Fathers’ decision to break with the country.
