Healthcare.gov Revs Up for a Crash
HealthCare.gov partially opened Monday so customers could begin researching and selecting plans before open enrollment begins Nov. 15. The Obama administration deliberately pushed open enrollment back after the election, though that didn’t exactly help Democrats last week. And don’t look for things to be a whole lot better this year than last year’s disastrous rollout. Aside from lowering enrollment predictions, Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell is already downplaying expectations, saying, “We will have things that won’t go right. We will have outages, we will have downtime.” She swears the site has been even more thoroughly tested, but glitches may still be there. “Something will happen,” she said. “What we need to do is be transparent, be fast and get it fixed.” And we all know transparency is this administration’s strong suit.
