Greek Organizations Treated Like Children at UVA
After Rolling Stone published the story that falsely accused a University of Virginia fraternity of rape, the liberals in the ivory tower ignored the facts and are treating UVA student like high school students. First, UVA suspended all Greek activities because of a “rape epidemic,” and then said they would not reinstate Greek organizations until they signed a more restrictive fraternity operating agreement. Some fraternities are resisting the pressure, however. Now, the National Panhellenic Conference has forbidden sororities on campus from associating with fraternities at an upcoming party. And the sororities are crying foul. Alpha Phi member Whitney Rosser said, “They are treating us like children and punishing us for being women. We’re angry because we are being told we are not allowed to go out instead of addressing the deeper issue of why sexual assault happens.” The Panhellenic Conference and UVA act like helicopter parents, grounding organizations, telling them who the students should associate with.
