Just under two years ago, Dzhokhar and brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev bombed the Boston Marathon with pressure cookers, murdering three and wounding hundreds more (they later killed an MIT security officer in cold blood, bringing the tally to four). Tamerlan was killed a few days later in an altercation with police, and Dzhokhar eventually was found seeking sanctuary inside a boat. On Wednesday, a jury finally convicted Dzhokhar on 30 counts, but his mother immediately defended her son and labeled the bombing victims the real terrorists. “[The U.S.] WILL PAY FOR MY SONS AND THE SONS OF ISLAM, PERMANENTLY!!!” she warned, adding, “MY SONS ARE INNOCENT, AS INNOCENT AS ALL THOSE WHO ARE BEING KILLED BY YOUR COUNTRY. TODAY THEY ARE KILLING MUSLIMS, AND TOMORROW WILL COME YOUR TURN AND HE WHO DOUBTS THIS IS DEEPLY MISTAKEN!!!!!” She later wrote to a friend, “The terrorists are the Americans and everyone knows it. My son is the best of the best.” So Mrs. Tsarnaev is excusing her sons actions … by threatening more terrorist attacks? Right, they’re clearly innocent. What a shame she wasted an opportunity to do something positive by denouncing her children’s heinous assault. The only question remaining is whether Dzhokhar will get life behind bars or face capital punishment. Thankfully, justice will be served, but Mrs. Tsarnaev’s rhetoric only adds insult to injury to the friends and families of those murdered by jihadists. More…
