Memphis Police Officer Killed; Suspect Captured
The lesson here is simple: All lives matter.
While investigating an illegally parked car Saturday night, Memphis Police Officer Sean Bolton was shot and killed by one of the vehicle’s occupants. The suspect in the murder, Tremaine Wilbourn, is in police custody after a manhunt. So why did Wilbourn allegedly kill Bolton? When police searched the vehicle, they found 1.7 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Bolton died because someone didn’t want him to find a few blunts’ worth of weed. This leads to a politically incorrect conclusion, at least when it comes to the progressives at the Nutroots convention. “As a community we say so often as a theme — Do black lives matter?” asked Toney Armstrong, the Memphis director of police services. “And at the end of the day, we have to ask ourselves, do all lives matter? Regardless of race, creed, color, economic status, what profession that person holds, all lives matter.” Indeed, that’s the only way a society will stay cohesive: That everyone has equal standing under the law.
