‘Freedom’? Nah, Just Inequality
Obama’s latest economic report is illustrative.
“Freedom” just isn’t in Barack Obama’s vocabulary. Almost literally, if you you take his Economic Report of the President, put together by his council of advisers. The report uses the word “freedom” only once — and that’s in relation to Vietnam and Malaysia, not the U.S. On the other hand, the report mentions “inequality” an astounding 235 times. We suppose it is year eight of the Obama economy…
In all seriousness, Obama once said that he would implement higher capital gains taxes on the rich even if it didn’t bring in more revenue simply because he believes in “fairness.” Given his record, it’s painfully obvious Obama’s not interested in allowing the economy the freedom to generate wealth for everyone. He’d rather knock the “rich” down a few pegs because “inequality” isn’t “fair.” And that’s a big reason why the “recovery” has been so lackluster.
