‘Ain’t Life Without Trump Grand!’

While Donald was crude and egotistical, at least he loved his country and didn’t try to destroy it.

It’s hard to believe it has only been 15 months since Joe Biden took office, snatching victory from that nasty Donald Trump guy. I was concerned when Joe moved his campaign to his basement. Trump rallies all across the country were bringing huge crowds together. When Joe did emerge, he and Kamala Harris only drew about a dozen or so actual voters.

But holy cow, his strategy must have been awesome, because he received eight million more votes than Obama did during his first election. That’s amazing! Sure, theoretically, it seems impossible, but good old Joe pulled it off. That’s why it was a little sad to watch Joe last week when Barack Obama showed up at the White House. Everyone was fawning over Obama as Joe wandered around the room trying to find someone to talk to. Didn’t they realize there was greatness in the room?

“Greatness,” you say? Yes. Think about it. I mean, Joe did what he said he was going to do. He told the fossil fuel industry he was going to put it out of business and, sure enough, he’s doing it. He told the world that people could come to the border and they would be welcomed because he wasn’t a racist like Trump. And several million (that we know of) came flooding across the border. I was hoping to see AOC standing by a chainlink fence (by an empty parking lot) weeping for the children. That was great optics, girl! But since these are now Biden’s kids, that might not have worked out well.

Joe showed the world what real leadership is when he ended the war in Afghanistan after 20 years. Sure, we left a lot of stuff behind, but it was probably not a big deal. Well, the Taliban thought it was a big deal. I know they’re Muslims, but it was like Christmas in August for them! There were those 13 members of our military who were killed; no Christmas for them. But there’s always going to be a little collateral damage, right?

How about standing up to Putin? That was awesome! Joe told us in 2020 that Putin was afraid of him and didn’t want him to be president. You sow to the wind, you reap the whirlwind — and boy did that come true in Ukraine. Biden stood toe to toe against Putin. We’re putting the mother of all sanctions on Russia that’ll devastate it. Oh, wait … I’m sorry. Joe said sanctions were never meant to deter Putin. My bad!

But Joe is inspiring us. Sure, there are times he can’t find the way to the Oval Office, but hey, it’s a big house. Sure, he says one thing in public and his staffers are walking it back later, explaining what he meant. While they get called to clean up Aisle 6, they’re still busy on Aisles 3, 4, and 5. I could go on, but there’s not room for all of it here. I hope my sarcasm is clear (it’s one of my gifts).

Elections have consequences. Remember that when you go to the polls in November. While Trump was crude and egotistical, at least he loved his country and didn’t try to destroy it.

I’d prefer mean tweets to open borders, inflation, and looking weak to our enemies.

Something to think about?
