It Is High Time to Get Back to the Fundamentals

When the United States Constitution was finally ratified on June 21, 1788, the most notable of our Founding Fathers, George Washington stated, “The power under the Constitution will always be in the people. It is entrusted for certain defined purposes, and for a certain limited period, to representatives of their own choosing; and whenever it is executed contrary to their interest, or not agreeable to their wishes, their servants can, and undoubtedly will, be recalled.” This revered sage also noted, “…influence is no government.”

To the constitutional delegates, George Washington declared, “If, to please the people, we offer what we ourselves disapprove, how can we afterwards defend our work? Let us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair. The event is in the hand of God.”

Alexander Hamilton, John Jay and James Madison in the Federalist essays made this most astute observation, “If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself.”

Observing the Hand of Providence

“[The adoption of the Constitution] will demonstrate as visibly the finger of Providence as any possible event in the course of human affairs can ever designate it.”

From Daniel Webster:

“I regard it [the Constitution] as the work of the purest patriots and wisest statesmen that ever existed, aided by the smiles of a benignant [gracious] Providence…it almost appears a Divine interposition in our behalf.”

And lastly, from Dr. Benjamin Franklin:

“I have so much faith in the general government of the world by Providence that I can hardly conceive a transaction of such momentous importance [as the framing of the Constitution] … should be suffered to pass without being in some degree influenced, guided, and governed by that … beneficent Ruler in whom all inferior spirits live and move and have their being.”

Preserving the Principles

The crusty old patriot, Daniel Webster, as forthright as ever stated, “I am committed against every thing which, in my judgment, may weaken, endanger, or destroy [the Constitution] … and especially against all extension of Executive power; and I am committed against any attempt to rule the free people of this country by the power and the patronage of the government itself.”

Webster also made this comment, “It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters.”

Fortifying Webster’s admonitions, Thomas Jefferson issued this warning, “In question of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.”

Jefferson then added, “To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt…. I am for a government rigorously frugal and simple.”

Guarding Virtue & Freedom

Benjamin Franklin observed, “Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”

John Adams added, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Educating the People

James Madison advised, “A well-instructed people alone can be a free people.”

So there you have it, the fundamentals upon which this great nation was built. Succeeding generations have failed to heed the admonitions of Daniel Webster, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. Influence peddlers, lobbyists, crooks and outright thieves and felonious politicians have sold the homestead from under the family.

Bad-intentioned, self-serving, smarmy politicians convinced their confederates to pass legislation that served to weaken the hold of the people on their own government. The Americans of good conscience put misplaced faith in the moneyed interests, in those into whose pockets the money went and faith in those who promised much, stole much and delivered a pittance in return.

One of the major thefts from We the People was in the passage of the XVIIth Amendment urged by one of the worst scoundrels in our history, William Jennings Bryan, a dominant force in the Progressive wing of the Democratic Party from the late 19th Century until his death in 1925.

The XVIIth Amendment removed state control over its senators by allowing them to be elected in a popular election rather than as originally set forth in the constitution by the individual state legislatures. Senators thus became pawns in the hands of a manipulative executive. FDR’s manipulation of Senator Joseph Robinson in the Supreme Court Packing attempt is illustrative of the misuse and abuses of popularly elected senators as opposed to senators elected by their respective state legislatures.

Failure to give women both black and white the vote with the ratification of the XVth Amendment in 1870 delayed for fifty years the vital input of a most significant portion of our population. Men have not been faithful stewards of the family unit nor of the federal government which has for all intents and purposes been under their domination for over two hundred years. More males are prone to be deadbeat fathers than are women to be failures as mothers, caregivers and teachers of moral and religious values.

I should like to put into focus one glaring and provable fact. The Democratic Party has been since its inception during the Reign of King Andrew Jackson whose claims to infamy are the “Spoils System,” the oversight of a more than one million dollar theft of government funds by his appointed collector of tariffs at the New York Customs House and the massacre of some 800 captured Creek Indians in Alabama during the War of 1812. He ordered their nose cut off as a tally count.

Woodrow Wilson was an unfaithful husband and the cuckolder of his professor neighbor while both were faculty members at Princeton University. Wilson was sued by Mrs. Peck, thus acquiring the pseudonym Peck’s Bad Boy. Unable to pay the demanded amount, Wilson allowed one Samuel Untermeyer, a New York lawyer and zionist to pay the demanded $40,000 in exchange for a promise to appoint Louis Brandeis to the supreme court. Brandeis was appointed, became quite friendly with Wilson and when Brandeis suggested that when the Germans reportedly sunk the SS Sussex with loss of American lives, Wilson had every right to declare war.

A trap had been sprung with devastating results. First, no sinking had occurred – it was a zionist ploy to assist England who had promised the zionists that England would turn the Palestinian territories over to the zionists as the Jewish homeland if they could get America into the war. Neither Wilson nor the zionists were ever vetted to ferret out any disqualifying actions by Wilson or the veracity of Brandeis’ Claim of the sinking. Could Wilson have been guilty of treason or at least some impeachable offense?

FDR was the consummate egomaniacal, narcissistic and monarchial executive. He had a favorable Congress in both houses, passed multiple pieces of legislation, much of which was determined to be unconstitutional. Roosevelt was furious with the SCOTUS and attempted to completely alter its makeup. The sudden death in the summer of 1937 of Senate Majority Leader Joseph Robinson halted that maneuver. Succeeding democratic presidents with the exception of Harry Truman, brought more of the same. JFK, a handsome bona fide hero of WWII, was also a faithless husband. He was never content unless he had a female with whom he could dally. LBJ was no better. Both did accomplish some major pieces of legislation but Secretary MacNamara and LBJ’s hands-on mismanagement of the Vietnam War ended disastrously.

Jimmy Carter, that is enough. He was pathetic and dysfunctional. Until Barack Obama came along, Jimmy was likely the worst president up until that time. Possibly tied with Harding. Now that we know who did what to America, what is or are the remedy or remedies.

Simply, We the People must awaken and energize the entire nation to the dangers we face. We can no longer support a failed congress nor their total apathy. We must, over the next four years, elect an entirely new congress. We must force our will on the beltway boys to set workable term limits for congress. Restructure the compensation government employees are paid, cut out most, if not all the perks they receive until we get desirable results. Any and all high crimes and misdemeanors and ethics violations must be dealt with immediately and severely. All lies are major crimes, and perjury and must not be tolerated.

Reexamine the policies of the Fourth Estate. Demand and prescribe stringent guidelines on factual reporting. Innuendo, lies and slanted reports are not First Amendment rights. A fact is either that or it is a lie.

The most important first step when the do-nothing 112th Congress returns to Washington is to impeach Obama and Holder for starters. This nation is vulnerable. Obama is likely to declare martial law while Congress is taking an undeserved vacation.
