To those late to the game: there is nothing new under the sun!

Watching Pennsylvania GOP Rep. Lou Barletta grovel before unelected HHS Secretary, Kathleen Sebelius, begging her to let a young child in his state have government “permission” to have a lung transfer, had to be the low point in American history!

Shame on you congressman. Shame on us, Americans. The Founding Fathers fully expected better things of us, not the least of which to elect virtuous, courageous, sensible people to govern with wisdom and honor.

A recent tv commercial reminds me of where our society is today. Young adults on a city street are caught by surprise to see their reflection in a building’s windows. The image they see is themselves as toddlers mirroring their moves. The infants recklessly running our government are us! “Gimme stuff, Gimme stuff,” is our new national motto, and with gleeful impudence we do!

Take for example Michigan Senator Carl Levin calling the executives of Apple to account for not “paying their fair share of taxes.” Even though Apple paid over $6 billion in taxes last year they were excoriated for not bringing home monies made overseas to have another 35% of their lawfully acquired profit confiscated by the insatiable appetite of our Federal Government. (How can Washington even determine what is “fair” when they haven’t passed a budget in over four years?! How can the will of the people be determined through our elected officials when they won’t give us a chance to tell them what we will let them spend?!)

Laura Lerner, Samantha Powers, Susan Rice, Hillary Clinton, Cass Sunstein, David Axelrod, Jay Carney, Valerie Jarrett, Steve Miller, Holder, Clapper, Sebelius, Pelosi, Reed, Napolitano, Michelle O – the list goes on and on. Soulless characters who fit the qualities Obama seeks in his confidants: impertinent, rude, bold, arrogant, incongruous, absurd and unseemly intruders who stick their nose where it does not concern them!

Can a bad tree produce good fruit? No, a thousand times no! If Socialism is, as a friend suggested, an evil economic system that legalizes the sins of coveting and confiscating other people’s things, may God grant mercy to wash away the scales of our lust-laden eyes to see we only have ourselves to blame for these infants running wild! May we not lose hope that in the awakening we can wash the Impertinent out of power!
