Incompetence? Or Something More Sinister?

No one can be certain that Ebola, contrary to what we have been assured by the misnamed CDC, cannot spread before obvious symptoms appear. No one can be sure it cannot, at least to a limited degree, spread through the air, or stay active and dangerous for some time on surfaces touched by victims of the disease. Potentially, an epidemic could overwhelm our health care facilities, so that even if fairly effective treatments are developed, most sufferers will not have access to them. And of course a major epidemic would virtually wreck our economy, to such an extent that thousands or even millions more would die.

Yet our esteemed President has refused to take the most basic, common sense precaution of all…he has refused to stop flights to the US from West Africa. And he has effectively opened up our southern border, not only to the usual illegal aliens and drug traffickers, but to people infected with Ebola and to Islamic terrorists. Not satisfied with that, Obama either allowed in or deliberately brought into our country tens of thousands of “children,” many infected with drug resistant TB and a number of very ugly tropical diseases. Not satisfied with that, he is sending at least three to four thousands of our troops to Liberia on an ill-defined mission to somehow “fight” the disease, although most of them have little or no medical training. Bear in mind that if (as seems inevitable) they come in close contact with infected Liberians they will be at great risk, unless, perhaps, they wear protective suits. There is no evidence that such suits are being issued, and even physically fit Marines cannot wear them for long in the humid heat of the tropics.

But wait…there’s more. According to an AP report, Marines, as they deplane in Liberia, are having their temperatures checked by Liberian medical personnel. Think about that for a moment. Why check the temperature (or anything else) of troops going into an infected area? Isn’t that analogous to searching travelers as they leave the airport? Is there no common sense or even sanity remaining anywhere anymore? And Liberian medical personnel do not have the same training or pass the same tests as their American counterparts, and Liberia is a country lacking such things as basic sanitation and clean water. How many of the thermometers used on our Marines were used on Ebola patients? Were they properly sterilized afterwards, or even washed with pure water? How many of these Marines are then being infected immediately, and will then go on to live in close quarters with their fellow Marines? And, once infected, will Obama leave them to die in Liberia or bring them home to spread the disease here? If there was some reason to check the temperatures of our Marines, why was it not done by our own medical corpsmen?

And are our military leaders so lacking in principle and in moral courage that they will not stand up to our President and refuse to let our troops suffer and die for nothing? It is depressing to remember that many German officers in WWII refused to obey illegal and immoral orders, and even plotted the overthrow or assassination of Hitler. Apparently many in the German officer corps had a greater sense of duty and honor than do our own unprincipled careerists.

If the monster in the White House was deliberately trying to kill tens of millions of Americans by spreading the epidemic here, he would not have done even one thing differently.
