Frog Boiling
Suppose that right after WWII, say in 1946 or 1947, Congress and the President had suddenly passed and signed federal laws legalizing abortion, even late term abortion, and authorizing payments to Planned Parenthood. Suppose a day later they had passed a law legalizing homosexual and lesbian acts and homosexual and lesbian “marriage” and decreed that Christian or Jewish bakers and caterers who refused to bake cakes and cater for the “weddings” could be sued by the homosexuals and lesbians, and even fined. Suppose the federal government had suddenly started issuing and enforcing intricate regulations on various businesses and even on home owners. Suppose they had stopped controlling our southern border, and had actively imported thousands of illiterate, unskilled, and often diseased people from Latin America, Haiti, Africa, and the Middle East, many of them criminals. Suppose the government had started banning Christian prayer in schools and in public buildings. The “greatest generation,” many of them armed with cutting edge WWII surplus small arms, many of them trained combat veterans, would have thought at first that it was all a sick joke. When they realized that the government was quite serious, they might have tried seeking a remedy to the madness in the courts, but if the justices had then upheld the government’s actions, many politicians, judges, bureaucrats, and illegal aliens would soon meet a violent end.
But of course our glorious leaders knew that this would happen, which us why they have followed the advice of the Italian communist, Antonio Gramsci, and pursued a policy of incrementalism, destroying our rights, our prosperity, and our late, great Republic bit by bit over many years. As patriots wise to the scheme have remarked, this is how to boil a frog: increase the heat gradually, so that, by the time the creature realizes the danger, it is already losing consciousness.
In 1954 the Supreme Court ruled that the “separate but equal” segregation policies followed by many states were unconstitutional. At the time, the decision seemed reasonable. Blacks should be able to attend the same schools as Whites, eat at the same restaurants, drink at the same fountains, and so forth. School desegregation followed, and if some of us were a bit uneasy at this increase of federal power at the expense of state sovereignty, we reassured ourselves that it was for a good cause. Then came the Voting Rights Act in 1965 and the Civil Rights Act of 1968. Still, all seemed well. But then came forced busing, an expansion of welfare benefits, more crime by Blacks, riots, affirmative action, and quotas. Now the races are far apart and we seem to be in a slow, simmering, one-sided race war that may soon become two-sided.
In the Roe vs. Wade decision of 1973, the Supreme Court ruled that the Due Process Clause in the Constitution somehow implied a “right to privacy,” and that this right somehow made abortion legal. Such tortured “logic” has become increasingly commonplace. The baby butchers assured us that it was all about saving desperate women from back alley abortions, and would result in abortion becoming safe and rare. But abortion has become a means of birth control, horrifyingly routine, and has been extended later and later in pregnancy, so that tiny but recognizable people are ripped to pieces or have their brains sucked out. If the procedure is botched and the baby is born alive, she is often left to die of exposure and thirst. Abortion mills are often unsanitary and many of the butchers are not well trained, and the mothers are often injured or killed.
Now, bit by bit, we have come to the point where we have a “President” whose birth certificate appears bogus, whose social security number was issued in a state (Connecticut) where he never lived or worked, whose school records (if they even exist) are sealed (and no one at Columbia even remembers him). His entire identity and most of his early life appears to be a manufactured narrative, nothing but a fable. And yet we graze on like sheep while this creature passes an unconstitutional “health care” bill and then continually modifies it by executive decree. Obama continually praises Islam, refuses to condemn Islamic terrorism or even name it, and continually denigrates Christians. He never misses a chance to stir up racial hatred. He conducted an unconstitutional (and counter-productive for US interests) bombing war against Libya. No matter what he does, the “Republicans” in Congress never stand up to him at all, let alone begin impeachment proceedings. Meanwhile, illegals flood our country and laws like the misnamed Patriot Act slowly take away the last vestiges of our freedom. And we, like the frog, do nothing.
We may well ask, when will the left be satisfied? When will they stop “progressing” further into evil, madness, and ruin? The answer is: never. They have gone from abortion to late term abortion, to partial birth abortion, and already some are hinting that there is no real difference between a baby a week before birth and one a week later. Are we so willfully blind that we cannot see where this is headed? Soon, very soon they will demand “euthanasia” for infants, calling it a “woman’s right.” And what is the difference between a baby a week old and one a year old, or between that infant and a five year old child, and so on and so on? How long before Christians and gun owners are classified as “incurably mentally ill” and “euthanized”? (Rest assured that our deaths will be far from painless). The radical pervert agenda is already taking over our schools; is there really any doubt that they will try to legalize sex with children? If all of this sounds impossible — so, twenty years ago, was pervert “marriage.”
The real question is when will we say “enough” and make a stand, not with words alone, but with deeds?
