Isaiah 1:18 (KJV), “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord…”

I remember the murder of Dutch film director Theo van Gogh in November 2004. He had completed a film titled “Submission: Part 1,” which criticized the treatment of women in Islam. Van Gogh was shot and had his throat slit by Mohammed Bouyeri who resented the film’s message. There was even a note left on van Gogh threatening Ayaan Hirsi Ali and others left on van Gogh’s body. There were some questions about eye witnesses saying that van Gogh pleaded with his killer as he began slitting his throat.

Last week, I was riding my motorcycle to Washington, DC, for the Rolling Thunder 2025 Memorial Day weekend remembrance. I arrived on Thursday, 22 May. Sadly, the evening prior, two innocent young Jewish Israeli embassy workers lost their lives. Yaron Lischinsky (28) and his soon-to-be fiancée, Sarah Milgrim (26), were gunned down in cold blood by Elias Rodriguez as they departed the Capital Jewish Museum. Rodriguez shouted out, “Free, Free Palestine,” as his insidious rationale for gunning down the couple. Sarah tried to crawl away, to no avail, as he continued to fire upon her.

Bouyeri and Rodriguez are examples of how we now face a leftist/jihadist cult of hate and death as they have joined together in an unholy alliance. And what we must come to realize is that we cannot reason with these ideologies that have been responsible for the deaths of millions since their inception.

American leftism (socialist/marxist/communist thought) has found camaraderie and simpatico with Islamic jihadism, and it is being fomented on our college and university campuses. And no, it is not academic freedom, as one Barack Hussein Obama articulated in response to punishment to Harvard and other Ivy League schools for supporting this jihadist movement. What happened in Amsterdam in 2004 with Van Gogh has now taken root and is openly supported and thriving here in America. Who would have ever thought that in our America, an Islamic terrorist group would find sanctuary and support? That the flags of said terrorist group would be displayed in our Country, to include in our Nation’s capital, and outside the office of a Member of our House of Representatives?

We have turned such a dangerous corner in America where leftists are joining with jihadists in justifying violence as a means to their very delusional and deranged ends. When you have a school teacher in Maine who openly publishes a post demanding the assassination of the President and his supporters, unapologetically, there is a problem. When we are allowing individuals to shout “Death to America”, proclaim “Intifada”, and shut down major transportation hubs without any consequence, we are just aiding and abetting this abhorrent behavior.

And what is most horrific, where are leftist voices, Democrat elected officials, to denounce such actions? When you have a former President and presidential candidate shot, and yet the same rhetoric continues by the left, it only inspires such violence. Yes, everyone says temper down the rhetoric, but leftists and jihadists never mean it. It was not too long ago that a survey taken of identified leftists where a plurality, and even a majority, agreed with violence against Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and justified the firebombing of Tesla dealerships.

And let’s be honest, leftists always complain about so-called white supremacist, right-wing activity, which is non-existent when compared to what the leftist/jihadist alliance is creating. Leftists are advocating for criminal illegal immigrants who are committing acts of violence against Americans.

Why?

Leftists are ranting about 59 white South African refugees being granted asylum in America…yet said nothing about tens of millions, mainly single military-aged males, being allowed illegal entry into our Country. Leftists are rioting in support of a student visa holder who has been inciting violence on a college campus against Jewish students.

Why?

The answer is simple: leftists/jihadists have a common totalitarian goal and commitment to that end. They both resent those who believe in individual freedom, rights, and liberty. They have constructed this insane support for the perceived “victim” while they eschew the plight of actual victims…those raped, assaulted, and murdered by criminal illegal immigrants and terrorists. How could anyone justify the wanton actions of Hamas on October 7th, 2023? Well, leftists/jihadists can, and facts do not matter to them because there has never been a kingdom or country called Palestine. Matter of fact, it was terrorist leader Yasser Arafat who smartly associated a region with a people, with the strategic goal of the elimination, eradication, and extermination of the Jewish people…the goal of Adolf Hitler, and Islamic jihadists.

No, we cannot reason with these ideologies of hate and death. No, we can no longer dismiss this behavior. There is only one course of action: unity against it to isolate it and diminish it. I have no issue with the freedom of expression, peaceful, and opposing philosophies of governance. However, America cannot suffer ideologies, thoughts, and actions that promote violence, the type of violence that would gun down an innocent man or woman just because they are Jewish. Targeting anyone for violence based upon their race or religion is unacceptable in our Constitutional Republic, and supporting it is reprehensible. America is a battlefield now, an ideological one, but the reality is that some see it as one of threats, intimidation, coercion, and violence.

They cannot be granted safe haven, sanctuary, and support. Terrorism on our streets must not be tolerated. As I have always said, “When tolerance becomes a one-way street, it leads to cultural suicide”. We cannot tolerate the leftist/jihadist cult of hate and death.
