Feel This

Last time I checked, conservatives in general, and Republicans in particular, were racist Neanderthals engaging in a “war on women” as a hobby, which is not to be confused with their full-time jobs of screwing over the 99 percent by not paying their “fair share” of taxes. Thus, you can imagine my surprise when a couple of outbursts from the oh-so-tolerant precincts of the left upset the proverbial apple cart.

Exhibit A is the well-mannered and even-tempered chief of staff for the New Black Panther Party, Michelle Williams. Expressing her frustration with the fact that the George Zimmeman/Trayvon Martin case has insufficiently ignited the kind of racialist passion Ms. William deems necessary, she offered America the kind of level-headed reasoning we were promised as an integral part of the Obama administration’s post-racial 2008 hope and change campaign. In a call to a radio program, Ms. Williams said the following:

“I just want to say to all the listeners on this phone call, that if you are having any doubt about getting suited, booted, and armed up for this race war that we’re in that has never ended, let me tell you somethin…the thing that’s about to happen these honkies, these crackers, these pigs, these people, these motherf*er…it has been long overdue.”

“I say to everyone that is on this call right now, I’m comin’ out of the gate…my prize right now this evening is going to be the bounty, the arrest- dead or alive- for George Zimmerman. You feel me? To every brother, to every female, I am for violence if non-violence means we continue postponing a solution to the American black man’s problem just to avoid violence. You feel me? It’s time to wake up, I don’t know how else…It’s in me to fight. It’s in me to raise up soldiers. It’s in me that every time my feet touch the ground the state of Florida- these crackers- they scared.”

“I’m kinda pissed off right now that the state of Florida ain’t on fire. This could not have happened in L.A. because them brothers up there are not scared to riot. This could not have happened in St. Petersburg Florida, where the black man over there are ain’t scared to kill a cracker.”

Surprising? Hardly. As unsurprising as the fact that, by Thursday morning, an audio transcript of the call had been surgically removed from YouTube. “This video has been removed as a violation of YouTube’s policy prohibiting hate speech” was posted where the incriminating evidence used to be.

Funny me. I thought only Republicans and conservatives could be racists and engage in hate speech. Not to worry. Ms. Williams apologized and no doubt all will be forgiven–right? I can’t help wondering though. If the president had a sister, would he say that she might look like Michelle Williams? Bet the farm we’ll never know. The president knows there’s nothing to be gained politically by alienating even a miniscule portion of his constituency.

And make no mistake: the same president who invited racial arsonist Al Sharpton to the White House last week knows exactly who that constituency is.

Exhibit B in our quest to shine the light on leftist hypocrisy concerns their media-abetted charge that Republicans are engaging in a “war on women.” The basis of that charge? Some Americans have this quaint notion that leftist dogma shouldn’t be jammed down their throats in violation of their religious beliefs, which amounts to forcing religious organizations or their insurance companies to provide birth control, including abortafacients, to any woman who wants it. Some Americans even have the bizarre idea that those who wish to engage in sexual intercourse absent the fear of pregnancy should pay for their own condoms, birth control pills – or abortions. It’s that gosh-darn personal responsibility thing that’s going the way of the eight-track cassette recorder among those Americans who believe half their lives should consist of complaining about the unfairness of life, while the other half consists of getting “free” stuff from the government to “even things out.” (see the 99 percent versus the one percent for reference)

That, by the way, is the sum total of the Republican’s so-called war on women.

Thus, it was hardly surprising that DNC advisor Hilary Rosen decided to go for a “two-fer” and whack Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s wife, Ann Romney. “She’s never worked a day in her life,” Rosen huffed. The two-fer? Rosen was no doubt smugly sure an administration that has made class warfare the centerpiece of its re-election campaign would no doubt be thrilled by one of their own adding to the zeitgeist. And no doubt she was blissfully certain that a women who has raised five children and sixteen grandchildren would be sluiced by the liberal meat-grinders who believe that any women choosing to remain at home instead of finding herself a “spiritually fulfilling career” is “nothing more” than a “housewife” – a term interchangeable with “dumb-ass doormat” in many progressive circles.

Obama administration officials tried to distance themselves from Rosen’s remarks. “I could not disagree with Hilary Rosen any more strongly. Her comments were wrong and family should be off limits. She should apologize,” tweeted Obama campaign manager Jim Messina. David Axelrod echoed Messina. “Also Disappointed in Hilary Rosen’s comments about Ann Romney, he tweeted. "They were inappropriate and offensive.”

What a load steaming load of b.s. Ask Bristol Palin if family is “off limits,” or if any remarks made about conservative women have been deemed “inappropriate and offensive” by the same re-election campaign that took a cool one million bucks from Bill Maher – and kept it – despite Maher referring to Sarah Palin as a “dumb twat” and a “c**t.”

As for Rosen, she’ trying to brazen it out, refusing to apologize for her remarks – even as she retreats to the Obama administration’s class-warfare rhetoric in the process. “This is not about Ann Romney,” she said. “This is about the waitress in a diner somewhere in Nevada who has two kids whose day care funding is being cut off because of the Romney-Ryan budget and she doesn’t know what to do…some means can afford to make a choice and stay home and raise kids. Most women in America, let’s face it, don’t have that choice.”

That would be the Romney-Ryan budget that is nothing more than a proposal. The Obama administration’s counter-proposal? Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner illuminated it precisely when he spoke to a House Budget Committee on February 17th. “We have millions of Americans retiring every day, and that will drive substantially the rate of growth of health care costs. You are right to say we’re not coming before you today to say we have a definitive solution to that long-term problem. What we do know is, we don’t like yours,” he said.

You know what I don’t like? Race-hustling agitators trying to drum up violence mindless. Pompous female windbags denigrating millions of American housewives. A Treasury Secretary who prefers running the nation into the ground in order to avoid telling Americans the truth about our fiscal dilemma. And most of all, a president more than willing to turn one American against another, no matter how ugly it gets, in order to win re-election.

You feel me, my fellow Americans?
