Kerry’s Credibility, Left-Wing Activist Kills Cop, Muslim Migration
As you know, Secretary of State John Kerry was our chief appeaser — Whoops! I mean negotiator — during the Iranian nuclear talks. We and other critics of the deal believe Kerry was fleeced by his Iranian counterparts. During the talks, Kerry made a number of bizarre comments. For example, he denied that Iran really intends to destroy Israel. He recently told a reporter that Hezbollah has tens of thousands of rockets but it hasn’t used them. Here is further evidence of his naivete. Shortly after the Iranian deal, Kerry spoke with Russian leaders and announced that the Russians were committed to resolving problems in Syria.
Kerry’s Credibility
In short order, Russia began a massive military buildup in Syria, which was likely planned well in advance of that meeting. Airfields are now being built for Mig fighters in Syria. Russian tanks and marines are on the ground.
If we are to believe media leaks, the Obama Administration wasn’t sure what to make of Russia’s moves and is now scrambling for a plan.
One has to wonder whether Obama and Kerry ever stopped to think that maybe the Russians really aren’t going to work with them after all. Is anyone at the White House having second thoughts about the concessions to the mullahs in Iran?
Here’s more possible fallout from the Iran nuclear deal: North Korea announced [yesterday] that it is restarting its main reactor and is threatening to attack us with nuclear weapons.
What could have possibly given North Korea the impression that the U.S. could be so easily intimidated? Given that Iran and North Korea are working together, I suspect Kim Jong-un saw how easily the ayatollah rolled Obama and Kerry, and decided he had nothing to lose!
Left-wing Activist Kills Cop
Sunday night, Kentucky State Trooper Joseph Cameron Ponder stopped a motorist who was driving more than 100 mph on the interstate. The man Ponder pulled over had a suspended license.
Suddenly, the motorist sped off and Trooper Ponder pursued him. After a high-speed chase, their cars collided and the motorist opened fire on Trooper Ponder’s vehicle, killing the 31-year-old Navy veteran. His killer fled on foot and was later cornered by police. When ordered to surrender, he aimed his gun at officers, who shot and killed him.
If you follow the news, you probably know about Trooper Ponder’s death. There was a brief item about the shooting on the CBS Evening News [Monday] night. But you probably know very little about his killer, Joseph Thomas Johnson-Shanks.
Johnson-Shanks is not from Kentucky, but Florissant, Missouri, which is near Ferguson. His Facebook page featured pictures of Malcom X, President Obama as Superman and numerous pictures of the Ferguson protests, including t-shirts featuring the meme “hands up, don’t shoot,” which was a lie.
He “liked” groups such as Occupy Democrats, Cop Block, Million Hoodies For Justice, Justice For Mike Brown Leadership Coalition. Johnson-Shanks even attended Michael Brown’s funeral. In fact, on the way to the funeral, he posted a few selfies from inside a chauffeured limousine with activists from Al Sharpton’s National Action Network.
If a Tea Party supporter killed a police officer that would be news. But once again, big media’s double standard is on full display when the facts don’t fit their left-wing agenda.
Muslim Migration
[Monday] we reported that the Obama administration plans to accept at least 10,000 Syrian refugees. There are hints that the number could be much higher.
But here’s something you may not know: Under existing immigration law, the United States is already admitting more than 250,000 migrants a year from predominately Muslim nations.
According to a review of statistics from the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security, in 2013 the U.S. resettled more than 117,000 Muslim migrants and issued visas for nearly 123,000 Muslims to come to the U.S. as foreign students and workers. In addition, we admitted nearly 40,000 refugees from Muslim nations. That is equivalent to adding a Muslim Des Moines or Dayton to the U.S. every year.
This should concern policy makers because we know from recent surveys that many Muslims in America would prefer to be governed by Sharia law rather than the Constitution. We know that Muslim immigrant communities are hotbeds of jihadi recruitment. We know that the vast majority are on food stamps.
My point is that we do not know who is coming in. Remember the 9/11 hijackers? They were here on visas. We let them in. At least 20 jihadists have been allowed into the country since then — and were granted citizenship.
If the United States is going to take in 10,000 Syrian refugees, they should be Christians and we should make no apologies for that. Not only are they are fleeing genocide, they are far more likely to share our values and the belief that our liberty comes from God.
