Wall in a Day’s Work: Trump Moves to Secure Border
President Trump hasn’t picked the final design for his border wall, but he’s settled on a temporary model: flesh and blood. With a caravan of 1,000 immigrants marching toward the U.S. border, the White House decided to act — and soon. Almost immediately, the National Guard is being deployed to take up its positions on the southern border and stop the surge of illegals streaming into the United States, unchecked.

With a caravan of 1,000 immigrants marching toward the U.S. border, the White House decided to act — and soon. Almost immediately, the National Guard is being deployed to take up its positions on the southern border and stop the surge of illegals streaming into the United States, unchecked.
“The threat is real,” Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said seriously. More than 1,000 people are breaking into the U.S. every day, she warned. And once they’re here, it’s almost impossible to get them out. “March numbers [are] up 37 percent from February (the largest one month change in at least eight years) and TRIPLE over March 2017. We must secure our border. As [the president] has said: All options are on the table.”
For now, the option that makes the most sense is using the National Guard, which can not only assist the Corps of Engineers to build the wall but guard the border in the meantime. “Despite a number of steps this administration has taken … we continue to see unacceptable levels of illegal drugs, dangerous gang activity, transnational criminal organizations and illegal immigration flow across our border,” Nielson said. “Border security is homeland security, which is national security,” Nielsen argued. And one way to get other countries’ attention is to put a stronger, more powerful presence in place that would help discourage caravans like the one in Central America. “We will not allow these illegal immigration levels to become the norm.”
With the population of Pittsburgh pouring through our gates every year, this is no longer a partisan issue — it’s a sovereignty issue. President Trump strongly believes, and I agree, that it’s time to take our border security seriously. If that means sending our National Guard — under state authority with federal funding — so be it. After all, this is the proper constitutional function of the Guard. If the White House had ordered the U.S. military to guard the border, that would have been another story. Instead, Trump kept our troop involvement limited, as it should be, to surveillance activities.
And while the media seems stirred up by the order, it’s really nothing new. Presidents Bush and Obama both sent National Guard troops to the border to deal with everything from drug smuggling to immigration. This president understands, as they did, that America is in a crisis situation. We can’t continue to stand by while outsiders violate our laws and help others do the same. It’s time to stop ignoring illegal behavior. Until we build a physical wall and Congress builds a legislative one, the problem will only get worse.
“Our Border Laws are very weak while those of Mexico & Canada are very strong. Congress must change these Obama era, and other, laws NOW!” the president tweeted. “The Democrats stand in our way — they want people to pour into our country unchecked….CRIME! We will be taking strong action today.” If there’s one thing this president has mastered, it’s strong and decisive action. And on issues like this, America is better for it.

Who’s in for the Sex Ed Sit out?

Who would want a porn star teaching kids’ sex ed? Try Planned Parenthood. America’s biggest abortion group is teaming up with groups like the ACLU for a nationwide effort that would put one of the most graphic curriculums in classrooms — without parents ever finding out. And moms everywhere are saying, “Enough!”
If you have children in public schools — or know friends who do — there’s a good possibility that these groups are already on the move to get their model legislation approved in your local districts. As usual, they’re working quietly, behind the scenes, to keep parents out of the loop. But that’ll be harder to do now that moms like Elizabeth Johnston are sounding the alarm. On “Washington Watch,” she explained how these organizations are creeping into grades as young as kindergarten with lessons that would make most adults blush.
Would you believe that groups like the Human Rights Campaign, a radical, leftist LGBT organization, and Planned Parenthood are working in concert together and sneaking into the schools, claiming to be abstinence-only education? And do you know what they consider “abstinence-only” to be? Teaching kids how to masturbate with each other and engage in oral and anal sex. Not to mention that the Human Rights Campaign, of course, is encouraging kids to question their gender through “anti-bullying” programs.
And parents don’t know this is taking place! They are very sneaky with the language. They change the names of the programs so that they can’t trace the programs… This is outrageous, and we aren’t going to stand for it. Our kids’ innocence is not for sale.
Unfortunately, too many school administrators think it is. They see the funding dangled in front of their faces — the bait these organizations use to push their propaganda — and agree to use the radical curriculum. “There’s no transparency with the parents and downright deception [is] being employed on the part of school administrators,” Johnston explained. “Parents can’t opt their kids out of these sex-ed and anti-bullying programs if they don’t know it’s happening in the first place!” Not to mention, she explains, it doesn’t stop with health class. This indoctrination is “being rolled out across the whole curriculum. It’s not like it’s just a sex-ed course. We’re seeing these topics being discussed inside the history curriculum and the science and the math, for crying out loud! They’re talking about kids going to gay bars in word problems in math! And they’re calling it ‘comprehensive sex education…’ You can’t opt out if it’s rolled across the curriculum.”
This is exactly the strategy that liberal forces tried this week in Louisiana. They wanted to mandate a form of extreme sex ed that included a whole grab bag of offensive topics from gender identity to sexual orientation. Fortunately, enough parents were outraged and motivated to do something about it. They put enough pressure on the legislature’s education committee that it was voted down 8-5 on Wednesday.
Unfortunately, not every state is so lucky. These curriculums are moving fast — and they’re coming in disguise. For Planned Parenthood, it’s all part of the business model. Where else does it get the next generation of abortion customers but by encouraging risky (and early) sex? It will call it whatever it has to, including things as innocuous-sounding as “family education policy.” Like most masters of deception, it’s careful about using terms that would tip anyone off about what’s really going on.

She and her network of thousands of followers are hosting a nationwide protest on April 23 called a “Sex Ed Sit-Out.” If you’re sick of the sexualization of kids that takes place every day in classrooms around the country, join them. Keep your children home from public school and join the movement that says: We’re the taxpayers, we’re the parents, and you’re not allowed to pervert the minds of our children with your pornographic material! EPA Campaign Turns Toxic
Liberals couldn’t block Scott Pruitt from his job at the EPA, so they’ve set their sights on the next best thing: forcing him out of it. Seizing on a few unconfirmed reports from inside the agency, the opposition thinks it has all the ammunition it needs to take out one of the biggest change agents in Trump’s Cabinet. There’s just one problem: Conservatives won’t let Pruitt go quietly.
They know, as Trump does, just how successful Pruitt has been in transforming the agency from a bastion of liberalism to a transparent government agency that respects its role. “The Left knows he’s being effective — perhaps the most effective member of Trump’s cabinet when it comes to actually translating rhetoric into reality — and they know they cannot stop him, so in typical swamp fashion,” Jenny Beth Martin writes in The Hill, “they are intent on destroying.”
For Pruitt, the bad blood goes way back to his days as the Oklahoma Attorney General. Liberals targeted him even then, suing the state multiple times for upholding its core values like life. This time, as then, Pruitt isn’t budging. “We are getting things done,” he told Fox News, “and that’s what’s driving these folks crazy. And I will tell you the truth, the facts are on our side.” And what are those things? Well, for starters, he’s started dismantling the regulations that were killing American jobs and hurting business. He was pivotal in the U.S. withdrawing from the misguided Paris climate accord, which was not only the right policy decision but reflected the strong skepticism that the president’s base has toward global warming.
“In his first year in charge of the EPA,” Martin points out, “Pruitt finalized more than 20 deregulatory actions, saving taxpayers more than $1 billion in regulatory costs.” Making opponents even more irate, he stopped the agency’s practice of “secret science,” which was how Obama used junk studies to justify suffocating new rules for the EPA. It was called “secret science” because the data was never released to the public. We were just supposed to take the administration’s word for it. No more, Pruitt said. “We need to make sure their data and methodology are published as part of the record. Otherwise … it’s not objectively measured, and that’s important.”
No wonder “the environmental movement in total is all in for the removal of Scott Pruitt,” as one activist put it. Scott Pruitt is reining in years of dangerous activism that hurt our economy. After years of watching the federal government use an arsenal of tools to fine and punish businesses that did not conform to its environmentalist agenda, Pruitt’s approach represents a much-needed change for freedom-loving Americans. We stand behind him — and his efforts — to clean up a polluted EPA.
