A Profile in Courage
Recently, Archbishop Viganò called out his boss for his close ties to Communist China.
One of the few people in public life that I unabashedly admire is Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò.
He is such an outspoken critic of Jorge Mario Bergoglio (aka Pope Francis), I wonder how the man keeps his job. I guess even the guy with the keys to the Vatican City can’t just fire people because of the things they say. Apparently, the cancel-culture hasn’t yet taken root in Italy.
Recently, Archbishop Viganò called out his boss for his close ties to Communist China, pointing out that “the dictatorship is allied to the global deep state.”
He went on to say, in no uncertain terms, that China seeks the cancellation of religions,“ to be replaced with a religion of the State which definitely has many elements in common with the universal religion desired by globalist ideology, whose spiritual leader is Bergoglio.”
It appears the Archbishop is as loath to refer to his boss as Pope as I am to refer to Biden as President.
Even when it comes to Biden, Viganò refuses to pull his punches, condemning him for his “close ties to China, the deep state and the advocates of globalist ideology,” as well as “his intention to condemn us all to wear masks.”
As for those who accuse him of propagating conspiracy theories, the Archbishop responds: “Years ago, those who spoke of the New World Order were called conspiracy theorists. Today, all of the world’s leaders, including Bergoglio, speak with impunity about the New World Order, describing it exactly in the terms that were identified by the so-called conspiracy theorists.”
In case anyone had a problem understanding the seriousness of his charges, Viganò concluded with “Globalism is instrumental to the establishment of the kingdom of the Antichrist, since it shares its principles, means, and ends.”
Speaking of Joe Biden, it had slipped my mind that when he announced that those aliens guilty of drunk driving would not be deported because drunk driving wasn’t that big a deal, it must have also slipped his mind that his first wife and his baby daughter were killed in a traffic accident caused by a drunken driver.
Maybe compared to the lucrative deals that he and his family have cut with Ukraine, Romania and Communist, a couple of deaths in the family aren’t all that important.
Kevin Nolan sent me a series of newspaper headlines related to the off and on relationship between the Minneapolis City Council and the city’s Police Department.
“Minneapolis Council Moves to Defund Police, Establish ‘Holistic’ Public Safety Force;” “Minneapolis Violence Surges as Police Officers Leave Department in Droves;” “Minneapolis City Council Alarmed by Surge in Crime Months After Voting to Defund the Police;” “With Violent Crime on the Rise in Minneapolis, City Council Asks: Where Are the Police?;” “Some Minneapolis City Council Members Would Like a Redo on Defunding the Police;” and “Minneapolis to Spend $6.4 Million to Recruit More Police Officers.”
One can expect to see that scenario played out in one left-wing city after another as the politicians discover that police are a necessity, not a nuisance and certainly not a bunch of pawns wearing blue who can be replaced by social workers and so-called community organizers.
As reported in The New American, another reality that is about to be faced by Americans is the fantasy of electric cars.
A car dealer named Geoff Pohanka decided to test drive the VW Golf EV, the Honda Clarity plug-in (PEV) and the Hyundai Kona EV.
The results were not encouraging.
Mr. Pohanka reported that the Kona takes 10 hours to recharge at his home and has a range of 250 miles. For a longer trip, he had to use a public station. That took an hour and 10 minutes and cost $21.07. To go the same distance in his gas-guzzler would have cost only about $13.
He determined that with his 80 mile a day commute, he would have to spend 200 hours a year charging up. That’s the equivalent of 25 eight-hour working days. What’s more, if he used the charging station closer to his work, it would burn up 300 hours a year, equal to 37 eight-hour work days annually.
He didn’t even bother pointing out that it would require fossil fuels to build the cars, and we’ve just seen in Texas what happens when you rely on wind or solar to provide your energy needs.
After I mentioned that in a way, my articles serve as my daily diary, Wesley Forgue let me know “My father kept a diary his whole life, locked in a gun safe. The day he was to go to a nursing home, he destroyed every one of his diaries. He was a very private person and I never got to read any of his diaries.
"I wonder,” he wondered, “how common this practice of destroying one’s diaries is for people who keep them.”
I couldn’t begin to guess. The only similar thing I had ever heard of was Franz Kafka’s request that all his writings be destroyed upon his death. The executor of his estate decided to ignore him. What was Kafka going to do? Sue?
Thinking about Forgue’s question, I concluded that when it comes to keeping or destroying diaries, it come s down to the secrets it would divulge.
If it had been my father, I would have leapt to all sorts of terrible possibilities. Was he a serial killer? A child abuser? A Democrat?
Speaking of Democrats, I can understand their reluctance to watch Fox or OAN or to listen to Sebastian Gorka or read me. Few people want to spend their time absorbing what they regard as lies and partisan propaganda.
But no matter how hard I try, I can not fathom how it is that some people will watch CNN and MSNC day after day.
It’s not as if people like Don Lemon, Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O'Donnell or John Brennan, ever says something amusing or original. Even though they are diversified when it comes to race, religion, age and sexual persuasion, they all convey the same lies using the exact same words.
What sometimes slips through is a new level of arrogance and patronization. Take Joe Scarborough. Please. Here he is talking about the riot that took place on January 6th: “I know there are idiots on other cable news channels that will say, ‘Well, this mom-and-pop store was vandalized during the summer riots, and that’s just as bad as the United States Capitol being vandalized.’ No, jackass, it’s not! The Capitol of the United States of America is the center of American democracy. And while I am a fierce believer in people’s right to defend their private property, I’m not going to confuse a taco stand with the United States capitol.”
I’m not going to confuse the two either. There’s a whale of a difference between them. At a taco stand, you can buy a delicious taco. At the U.S. Senate, the only thing you can buy is a politician.
With Biden calling the shots, world news could hardly be worse. First, he stuck us back in the Iran nuclear deal, which probably means we will once again be flying planeloads of cash to the Ayatollah to help him finance his terrorist agenda.
And even though we did play a part, thanks for Dr. Fauci, in creating the Covid-19 pandemic by helping to fund research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the National Institute of Health has just confirmed that the Institute will once again be receiving our tax dollars with which to conduct its bio research at least through 2023.
Which strongly suggests that when the next virus hits us, and it will, we can point to it with a certain amount of pride, knowing we helped pay for it.
