Amy Coney Barrett Is No Diana Ross

It’s becoming increasingly apparent that Barrett, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh are CINOs (Conservatives in Name Only).

It’s true that as Supremes go, Diana Ross clearly outshines Justice Barrett. But it’s probably unfair and may even smack of sexism if I failed to mention that Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh also pale when compared to Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong, and not just in pigmentation. (Has there ever been a better name for a singer, backup or otherwise, than Cindy Birdsong?)

If the students at the University of Indiana, who are opposing the school’s insistence that they either be vaccinated or forget about being enrolled, thought they’d get a sympathetic hearing from the Supreme Court, they discovered to their chagrin that President Trump got snookered when he placed what he thought were three Conservatives on the bench. Justice Barrett rejected their case, depriving justices Thomas and Alito of at least being able to offer minority opinions.

I am guessing that anyone who was concerned that this Court would overturn Roe v. Wade can stop worrying. It’s becoming increasingly apparent that Barrett, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh are CINOs (Conservatives in Name Only).

Although I have spent the past year and a half seeing the front of the Wuhan Institute of Virology any time someone on TV does a story on the Covid virus, it was only the other night that something finally registered. Why is the name of the lab written in both Chinese and English?

I submit it’s a tribute to Anthony Fauci, acknowledging his generosity in funding with our tax dollars the horrific experiments taking place within its walls.

Speaking of horrific experiments, not satisfied with playing an instrumental role in unleashing the coronavirus on mankind, Fauci, who could have served as Dr. Mengele’s lab assistant, has also been killing off dogs at a record rate. All in the name of science, of course, which was also Mengele’s excuse.

It seems that Fauci spent $400,000 on an experiment that involved infecting 28 Beagles with parasites. At the end of the months long exercise in sadism, the dogs were killed. The research did not lead to a breakthrough cure for breast cancer, childhood leukemia or Alzheimer’s; it led to the murder of 28 Beagles.

But what’s 28 when there is a facility in Virginia that is a home, in the sense that a concentration camp is a home, to 5,000 Beagles whose fate it is to be sold to labs around the country where they will have unspeakable experiments performed on them so that PhD. candidates can publish research papers that will never be read but will land them jobs at Ivy League universities.

My question is why they’re using dogs when the prisons are filled with rapists, pedophiles and murderers. As Tucker Carlson pointed out, the monsters use dogs because they’re sweet, compliant and want to please us.

And you thought those creeps in white smocks, people like Fauci, Birx, Walensky and the bat people in Wuhan, only hated human beings.

After playing hard to get for several months, Nancy Pelosi is finally throwing her weight behind her nephew, Gavin Newsom, vowing to use her political operation, as she referred to it, to keep him in office.

She joins a star-studded cast of miscreants that includes Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.

Speaker Pelosi doesn’t help her cause when she, who twice impeached Donald Trump, once after he was out of office, opined that a recall is no way to remove a duly elected governor from office.

I was never in the military, but I feel I have to weigh in on our hasty withdrawal from Afghanistan. After two decades, “hasty” might strike you as an absurdity. But that is what it is. Like every decision Joe Biden or his advisors have made over the past eight months, it drips with cynicism.

It is bad enough that we go to war for stupid reasons in parts of the world where we have no national interest, but it gets even worse when we withdraw with our tails between our legs. As bad as it was in Vietnam, we were fighting that war on two fronts; one of which was against the enemy on the ground that was supported by China; the other enemy, Walter Cronkite, who was on the air.

But to lose in Afghanistan to tribesmen armed with old weapons and a disgusting ideology is humiliating. What is the point of spending trillions of dollars on the latest technology, except to increase dividends for outfits like Boeing and Lockheed Martin, if we can’t defeat goatherders?

In the 30s, Mussolini was derided for using his planes against Ethiopians armed with spears. But at least Italy won that war. It wasn’t even close.

To make our retreat even more revolting, we had Joe Biden, who only a few days earlier insisted that the Afghan military was fully capable of defeating the Taliban on their own, begging the Taliban to hold off capturing Kabul long enough for us to fly our diplomats out of the country.

But at the very least, when we do go skulking off into the night, couldn’t we at least destroy our airbases, encampments, ammo, drones and military vehicles, before we leave? Must we not only surrender our national pride, but leave the spoils of war for our enemies?

Shortly after Barack Obama celebrated his 60th birthday with 500 of his nearest and dearest sycophants on Martha’s Vineyard there was a sudden breakout of the virus on the island community, with 63 people testing positive with the virus. Rumor has it, the birthday boy is blaming the motorcycle convention in South Dakota.

When asked how that was possible, he allegedly said: “How do I know? Am I a scientist? But that’s what Dr. Fauci told me.”

I know that Biden and the Democrats have taken to insulting those of us who have avoided getting vaccinated, calling us haters, knuckle draggers and ignoramuses, even though the most reluctant are blacks.

But a joint study by researchers from Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh has found that when broken down by educational level, it’s those with Ph.Ds who are the most reluctant (23.9%), compared to those who only got as far as high school (20.8%); some college (18.3%); Bachelor degrees (11%); and Masters (8.3%).

Politicians and bureaucrats say the darndest things when they think nobody is listening.

After Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas visited the southern border, he was heard on a leaked audio saying: “We’re losing. This is unsustainable. Our system isn’t built for this.”

I guess that’s why they never let border czarina Kamala Harris get within 500 miles of the place where the illegal aliens are streaming through. Perhaps they feared that in an unguarded moment she, too, might have said something unscripted and true.

After I wrote about inventions, I heard from James Fulton, who sent along a quote by Mark Twain, who wrote: “We are called the nation of inventors. And we are. We could still claim that title and wear its loftiest honors if we had stopped with the first thing we ever invented, which was human liberty.”

In response to my equating Biden’s budget-busting spending to drunken sailors on a spree, Patrick Miano reminded me of one of Ronald Reagan’s memorable one-liners: “We could say the government spends like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors because the sailors are spending their own money.”

John Foose let me know that his 8-year-old niece came home from school and let her parents know she is an oppressor.

I asked if the girl knew what an oppressor is and could she think of anyone, aside perhaps from a younger sibling if she has one, that she has ever oppressed.

He replied: “I think the message from her school in Everett, Washington, is that because she’s white, she is automatically an oppressor of ‘people of color’. She may not get it yet, but a couple of more years of this and I’m afraid she’ll believe it.

"I remember the old mantra by the Catholic parochial schools: give us the child for five years, and we will give you a Catholic for life. It’s the same stuff today with Critical Race Theory.”

“In a great many cases, though, the Church was mistaken,” I replied. “In fact, it was just wishful thinking once the Inquisition ended, and death was no longer the price of heresy. Now we can only hope the current inquisition doesn’t last quite as long as that first one.”
