Barney Frank Comes Home to the Facts
Can you teach an old dog new tricks? In politics, the answer is usually no. Most elected officials cling to their ideological biases, despite the real-world facts that disprove their theories time and again. Most have no common sense, and most never acknowledge that they were wrong.

The Russian Who Did Nothing
A pair of US Air Force C-130 cargo planes landed at Russia's Vnukovo International Airport last Saturday, followed by a charter flight from California. The cargo planes carried $4.5 million in emergency aid to help avert what could become a monumental disaster, far greater than our Gulf oil spill where it has been reported we turned away about 15 nations that wanted to help us.

Mr. Prelutsky Doesn't Go to Washington
Every so often, one of my readers who has apparently dipped once too often into the cooking sherry wonders why I don’t run for Congress. The short answer is that I don’t want to ever again wear a necktie. I also don’t wish to spend my life going hat-in-hand begging for campaign contributions. Worse yet, what if I actually won the election and then had to listen to Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank mouth off endlessly? Between her nursery school delivery and his lisping, I’m sure I’d soon be popping Excedrin like peanuts.

Obama Policies Threaten Israel's Security
President Obama has wasted his first year in office “reaching out” to the mullahs in Tehran. Even now, he absurdly says that the Iranian clerics and the United States have a “mutual interest” in stopping the Taliban in Afghanistan. Just whom does he think is now aiding the Taliban? Can he really be so naive? For the past year, although they would never admit it, President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have been pressing a “re-set” button on U.S. policy toward Israel.

From The Comedy Store
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs ripped liberal Democrats who compare Barack Obama to George W. Bush. He said they should be drug-tested. You know how Democrats are, the first thing they want to know is whether you brought enough for everybody.

Obama’s Mosque at Ground Zero
By embracing the mosque at Ground Zero, President Obama made it his own. And as his own, it will be an albatross around his neck. At a glittering White House dinner marking the end of the Muslim holiday of Ramadan, Mr. Obama made a strong appeal for religious liberty and tolerance.

The Barack Hussein Obama Mosque
When I consider the brouhaha over the mosque at Ground Zero, the question that springs to mind isn’t why Islamics chose such a provocative site, but, rather, why so many Americans feel compelled to pander to Muslims.

Dismantling America: Part IV
How did we get to the point where many people feel that the America they have known is being replaced by a very different kind of country, with not only different kinds of policies but very different values and ways of governing?

The Lost Promise of Barack Obama
WASHINGTON -- The most destructive gap for President Obama is not the Republican lead on the generic congressional ballot, or even a job disapproval that has surpassed approval -- it is the gap between aspiration and reality.

And Now: The Stealth Obama Ocean Grab
It's not enough that the White House is moving to lock up hundreds of millions of acres of land in the name of environmental protection. The Obama administration's neon green radicals are also training their sights on the deep blue seas. The president's grabby-handed bureaucrats have been empowered through executive order to seize unprecedented control from states and localities over "conservation, economic activity, user conflict and sustainable use of the ocean, our coasts and the Great Lakes."

Sleazy Songs of Summer
Ever wonder what those teenagers are listening to while wearing those iPod earphones? Maybe you'd rather not know. You will be horrified.

The Judiciary's Culturally Sanctioned Allergy to Christianity Flourishes
Does anyone find it ironic that the very people who protest so loudly over supposed affronts to Islamic religious expression are often so hostile to the slightest Christian religious expressions -- even incidental expressions?

Moral Myopia at Ground Zero
WASHINGTON -- It's hard to be an Obama sycophant these days. Your hero delivers a Ramadan speech roundly supporting the building of a mosque and Islamic center at Ground Zero in New York. Your heart swells and you're moved to declare this President Obama's finest hour, his act of greatest courage.

Death and Politics: A Love Story
Some weeks ago, I received a handwritten note from an old friend. Back in the days when I had served in elective office, and when I chaired Newt Gingrich's campaigns, this man had always been there for me. He put up campaign signs and raised money for me. He even allowed me to act as Gingrich campaign treasurer by putting my name on some of Newt's financial disclosure forms. He did so knowing that if we screwed up somehow, he could go to jail.

Battle of the Bookists
We're going to seduce them with our square footage, and our discounts, and our deep armchairs, and our cappuccino. They're going hate us at the beginning. ... But we'll get 'em in the end because we're going to sell them cheap books and legal addictive stimulants. We'll just put up a big sign: "Coming soon: a FoxBooks superstore and the end of civilization as you know it.

China Wealthy? That's Rich!
It was big news around the world: China has "overtaken" Japan as the world's second-richest economy. Except, well, it's not really news, it's not really big, and it's not entirely true. Let's take the last part first. Yes, technically, China's gross domestic product is now slightly ahead of Japan's.

Out of Touch
His supporters are genuinely puzzled at President Obama's slip in popularity. They're racking their brains to explain how a man who swept into the Oval Office on a tide of good will could have fallen so low. According to recent polls, most Americans now disapprove of the job Obama is doing. That's a dramatic change from his early months in office, when the president held a 2-to-1 advantage in his approval ratings.

Focus!
TULSA, Okla. -- We may be in Oklahoma, but here in the American heartland, it's not "OK" anymore. Though thousands of fans -- here for the fifth of eight Sean Hannity Freedom Concerts -- are fired up to support our troops serving in harm's way, they are anything but enthusiastic about what's happening in Washington. Perhaps that's because so many of us -- including the millions of Americans now unemployed, underemployed and struggling to keep their homes out of foreclosure -- remember President Barack Obama's promise in February that "jobs will be our No. 1 focus in 2010."

Obama's Choice: Boy Scouts or Islam
President Obama couldn’t bring himself to observe the National Day of Prayer or spend time with the Boy Scouts of America, but God forbid, he couldn’t miss the Muslim Iftar Ramadan dinner, or pass up a chance to praise an Islamic center a stone’s throw away from Ground Zero.

Please, No More Teachable Moments
The president of the United States has it hard enough without needlessly wading into, and fanning, local controversies. The economy is battered by sluggish growth, high unemployment, record annual deficits and near unsustainable national debt. Over 50 percent of the people now disapprove of Barack Obama's handling of these problems.
