Hagel to Cut DoD Budget
Comes on top of sequester cuts.
SecDef Chuck Hagel will unveil massive cuts to the DoD budget next week. Consequently, the proposal would “shrink the United States Army to its smallest force since before the World War II buildup and eliminate an entire class of Air Force attack jets,” writes The New York times. While there is, unquestionably, substantial waste in DoD contracting, as there is with all federal government bureaucracies, most of the spending and regulatory costs in those other bureaucracies is not constitutionally authorized and does little to protect our nation and the future of Liberty. Hagel’s plan will only further damage the prowess of America’s Armed Forces. Lawmakers should demand that budget restrictions focus on plentiful and unlawful federal programs instead.
