Autopsy: Michael Brown Shot Six Times
Dr. Michael Baden, a medical examiner who once worked for New York State Police and hosted the HBO show “Autopsy,” released the report from his autopsy of Michael Brown. On Aug. 9, Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson shot and killed Brown during a disputed altercation. Baden’s report shows Brown was shot six times. In every instance, Brown was facing Wilson, which calls into question the claims of witnesses that Brown was shot in the back. But the report does not paint a complete picture of what happened that day. Baden said, “In my capacity as the forensic examiner for the New York State Police, I would say, ‘You’re not supposed to shoot so many times.’ Right now there is too little information to forensically reconstruct the shooting.” For instance, Baden did not see Brown’s clothes to see if there was gunshot residue on the clothes.
