Enough of This ‘Workplace Violence’ Nonsense

The San Bernardino attack was jihad, plain and simple.

Some members of the grievance industry still suggest the California attack was a hybrid version of “workplace violence” and not exclusively Islamic jihad. It’s an absurd claim and one that should be put completely to rest. The post-attack investigation has revealed that both assailants pledged allegiance to the Islamic State and, according to the FBI, both were extremists “for quite some time.” Now, according to NBC News, we’ve learned that “San Bernardino terror couple Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik spent at least a year preparing for their terror attack.” In fact, “[T]he husband may have discussed an attack as many as three years ago, law enforcement sources said Tuesday.” You don’t spend a year — or three — planning the slaughter of innocent lives and contriving follow-up attacks, as the probe also revealed, over a workplace dispute.

NBC adds, “Counterterrorism officials also told NBC News that Farook and Malik were making preparations for some time to ‘take care of both grandma and the baby.’” In other words, they were planning jihad, plain and simple. Still, the grievance industry is having none of it. New York University’s Arun Kundnani recently told CNN, “Notice the main trend that we’re seeing in Muslim terrorism is Muslims are no longer focusing on planes when they commit acts of terrorism. They’re carrying out mass shootings. So … Muslim terrorists are becoming more like Americans. They’re integrating into American gun culture, and they’re becoming more like you.” Got that? Gun owners are just like terrorists. And people wonder why today’s college students are fragile, sensitive nitwits…
