There were plenty of good lines from Thursday's presidential debate, but Senator Marco Rubio (Fla.) summed it up best: "God has blessed us. He's blessed the GOP with very good candidates. The Democrats can't even find one." Of course, oceans of ink have already been spilled on the dissection of the candidates' performance (or lack thereof), but the senator from Florida is right: if you're looking for losers, Cleveland didn't have a whole lot.

Jesus said, "Let your 'yes' be 'yes' and your 'no' be 'no.'" Unfortunately, that'll be a lot harder for Houston voters in the next election. Thanks to an administration that apparently sees people as a nuisance in their advance of an anti-religious freedom agenda, voters will have to pay extra close attention this November, when the Houston bathroom bill is finally on the ballot. Mayor Annise Parker is up to her old tricks — the most recent being her intentional manipulation of the ballot language. Although she and the rest of the council have no choice but to bring the issue up for a vote, they still plan on using every stunt in the book to protect the measure — including muddying the question's wording.
The Core Dishonesty of Abortion Defenders
For decades, I believed that displaying grisly photographs of aborted babies was the wrong way to make the pro-life case. Disturbing images, I thought, would only repel viewers, not persuade them. I now think I was wrong. There are many ways to make an argument. The Center for Medical Progress has demonstrated that a 2 x 4 has its uses. These videos, precisely because they are graphic, shatter the complacency and denial that are essential for a regime of mass violence to proceed. They undermine the reassuring fiction that birth is a bright moral line. Five seconds before the baby emerges, it has no moral worth. Five seconds after — all moral worth. That is untenable logically and pitiless psychologically.
Body Parts Scandal 'Infuriates' Obama
Finally, our distinguished president, our Nobel Peace Prize laureate, has spoken out about the infamous scandal of body parts being trafficked. "It is infuriating and I have no patience for it," President Obama said in a strong show of righteous indignation. But wait, that was in response to a question about the killing of Albino people in Africa. Of course, he is absolutely right in his visceral reaction against trafficking in body parts for pagan ritual purposes in parts of Africa. And the young African leaders — to their great credit — asked the president to lend his moral authority to their effort to stamp out this horrific practice.
Bodies of Evidence Don't Deter Abortion Allies
It didn't take long for a federal judge to block some of the Planned Parenthood footage — and now we may know why. According to records, federal Judge William Orrick has an interesting political connection to the man who once said, "God bless Planned Parenthood." Not only was he appointed by this President but, as documents show, raised $200,000 for Obama's campaign.

It's bound to be an uncomfortable day for 45 senators, now that another Planned Parenthood video is reminding voters who the politicians are standing with. Hours after they voted to protect the abortion giant's half-billion dollars in taxpayer funding, the Center for Medical Services showed the world another instance of Cecile Richards's group selling off intact babies like cattle at auction.

The GOP-controlled Congress is taking up the cause, once again, of defunding Planned Parenthood. This latest effort comes in response to macabre hidden-camera videos shot by the Center for Medical Progress of staff at Planned Parenthood talking about the grisly practice of chopping up fetuses for parts. There's a debate over whether the videos prove the center's claim that Planned Parenthood is ghoulishly trying to make a profit selling baby lungs, livers and hearts.

The summer weather is no match for the heat on Planned Parenthood. Two weeks and four incriminating videos later, the stress on Cecile Richards's group is starting to show. With some of the most shocking footage tied up in court, Planned Parenthood and its baby part buyers are desperately trying to keep the lid on the latest bombshell — that the abortion giant sometimes ships out *fully intact infants* to its clients. Just when Americans thought the most stomach-turning details were already released, the Center for Medical Progress's David Daleiden told CNN that there's a reason Planned Parenthood and company are working so frantically to keep the fifth video under wraps. "In a meeting with their top leadership," Daleiden explained, "they admitted that they sometimes get fully intact fetuses shipped to their laboratory from their abortion clinics they work with, and that could be prima facie evidence of born-alive infants." For now, the grisly confession, taped over lunch with high-ranking StemExpress officials, is in the hands of federal judges who will decide when and if the footage is released.

The President was also working against a near-total blackout of Western media coverage of the Berlin Wall. As former PBS news anchor Robert MacNeil said at the Newseum in 2009, the only time mainstream reporters covered the Berlin Wall was when U.S. Presidents — JFK and Reagan — went there. Then they had to. No wonder President Reagan also endorsed Dr. Bernard Nathanson's first film of an actual abortion, *Silent Scream*. Because he believed in the power of truth, Reagan sent a copy of this powerful video to every congressional office.
The Barbarity of a Nation
Executives of Planned Parenthood's federally subsidized meat markets — your tax dollars at work — lack the courage of their convictions. They should drop the pretense of conducting a complex moral calculus about the organs they harvest from the babies they kill. First came the video showing a salad-nibbling, wine-sipping Planned Parenthood official explaining how "I'm going to basically crush below, I'm gonna crush above" whatever organ ("heart, lung, liver") is being harvested. Then the president of a Planned Parenthood chapter explained the happy side of harvesting: "For a lot of the women participating in the fetal tissue donation program, they're having a procedure that may be a very difficult decision for them and this is a way for them to feel that something positive is coming from ... a very difficult time."
