Just five days after the election, Pfizer announced a COVID-19 vaccine that’s 90% effective. But to stop the pandemic through herd immunity, 75% of the public must volunteer to take the shot. With about half the country still on the Trump train, and trust in government health officials at a low ebb among them, could resistance by the president’s base slow the coming day when we can all take off these masks?
