About the J6 Capitol Riot Jackasses

Democrats have finally found a riot they could condemn.

The first week of 2021 was the most difficult and discouraging of any new year in my lifetime.

Emerging from a very difficult year on all Americans, especially those whose lives and/or livelihoods were devastated by the ChiCom Virus pandemic, and a year with disastrous presidential political results, we entered 2021 with a glimmer of hope that Republicans would retain the Senate and thereby blunt the threat to Liberty posed by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Unfortunately, the Democrat Party’s strategy of bulk registration and bulk-mail ballots, along with Donald Trump’s distracting “stollen election” claims with suppressed the Republican vote, swamped Georgia Republicans, who were still trying to play by the rules.

A day later on 06 January, came the massive Trump rally in Washington and a follow-up rally planned on the Capitol grounds. Unfortunately, a split fraction of 1% of those who went to the second rally staged a brief but ugly occupation of the Capitol building.

The riotous mob who forced their way into the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, represent the worst of the American “Right” — a fringe element who claim to be “Patriots” supporting Liberty but who lack the most fundamental self-awareness requisite to represent anything other than its own emotive narcissistic impulses. In fact, those who led that riot — battling police and trashing the Capitol building — were indistinguishable both from the leftist mobs that violently swamped Washington, DC a few months ago and from those who have wreaked havoc in other urban centers across the nation for the last seven months, largely unabated.

Most of those protesters were fringe jackasses caught up in the pitched fervor, who caused no injuries or damage. But some of the occupiers who violently battled police, were clearly dangerous thugs. There were 130 police officers injured, and one Capitol Police officer, Brian Sicknick, died a day later though the circumstances of his death were unrelated to the violence.

Another casualty was Ashli Babbitt from San Diego, an unarmed woman who was shot and killed by Capitol Police Officer Michael Byrd. She foolishly attempted to climb through a broken window within the Speaker’s Lobby, in order to gain access to a hallway leading to where members of the House were being secured.

In tragic irony, Officer Sicknick and Ashli Babbitt had several things in common: They were both grassroots American Patriots, they were both military veterans, and they were both Trump supporters.

There were Capitol Police who distinguished themselves in the face of overwhelming odds.

Lone Capitol Police officer Eugene Goodman who single-handedly lured protestors away from the Senate chambers, averting what could have been much more serious consequences. Notably, Officer Kieth Robishaw, who was falsely accused of inviting protestors into the Senate chamber, in fact was alone and outnumbered, and did his best to maintain civility in the Senate chamber.

Regarding the Demo and Beltway talkingheads’ questions about why the Capitol Police were unprepared, the answer is simple: The real reason Capitol Police were not prepared and the National Guard was not on standby is that everybody expected the Trump rally supporters to act like they always have — with civility and respect. What happened on the Capitol grounds Wednesday was unprecedented for a Trump rally.

Given the civil and lawful tenor of ALL previous rallies during Trump’s tenure, there was no reason to believe that some fraction of 1% of those in attendance that day, would resort to the riotous thuggery associated with all the “peaceful” leftist protests. Heretofore, violence has been the standard modus operandi of the so-called “Black Lives Matter” racists and so-called “antifa” fascists. What happened on the Capitol grounds was unprecedented for a Trump rally.

Notably, those who battled with police outside and inside the Capitol building, by both action and appearance, certainly do not represent any mainstream contingent of Trump supporters. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund, who is resigning, noted: “Violent confrontations from the start. They came with riot helmets, gas masks, shields, pepper spray, climbing gear, explosives, metal pipes, baseball bats. I have never seen anything like it in 30 years of events in Washington.”

Nor has anyone ever seen anything like it at a Trump rally.

That atypical break-off group of violent radicals, clearly distinguishable from the otherwise lawful and respectful Trump rally attendees, were less likely inspired to violence by anything Donald Trump said than they were the rhetoric spewed by a primary benefactor and promoter of that rally, InfoWars agitator and perpetual charlatan Alex Jones. He has a long and sordid history of promoting wholly discredited conspiracy theories, and has amassed a substantial “alternate reality” cult following. Jones’s role in the Trump rally was paved by one of his fellow QAnon conspiracy adherent, Roger Stone. Jones and his cult followers have led heated “Stop the Steal” rallies since the election.

Of course, Donald Trump has been the lightning rod for the Capitol riot, and, by extension, so have ALL genuine conservative Patriots. Predictably, before the Capitol dust had settled, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and soon-to-be Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) were calling for Trump’s resignation and setting up another impeachment charade just a year after their previous fake impeachment farce.

Trump’s language regarding election fraud, which has eclipsed the real concern we should all have for the Demos’ bulk-mail balloting fraud strategy, was, arguably, one catalyst that inflamed a fringe constituency element of rioters. I have strongly rejected claims that anything Trump said that day is responsible for “inciting” a riot.

But in the context of all Trump had claimed since the election, it is no stretch to suggest that context attracted the deranged and fringe personality-cult elements who invaded the Capitol after his remarks that fateful day. Their narcissistic lack of self-awareness has done more to undermine the long list of Trump administration policy successes and advance the leftist agenda than anything Democrats could have hoped to achieve.

Nothing Trump said that day justified the Pelosi/Schumer impeachment theatrical farce.

Trump did say halfway through his speech, “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard today.” However, he also encouraging people to head to the Capitol and protest his election loss, saying: “We will stop the steal. … We will not let them silence your voices. … You have to show strength, and you have to be strong. … We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing. … We’re going to try and give [lawmakers] the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country. … We’re going to have to fight much harder. … We fight like hell, and if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.”

But as I mentioned to our team, Trump’s references to Mike Pence were disgraceful. Moreover, I was far more concerned about what Trump did not say and do as his team was updating him real time on the Capitol violence — nothing. As seasoned conservative political analyst Paul Mirengoff observed, “This impeachment was not a ‘witch hunt,’” as Trump claimed.

In his 1.5-minute statement hours after the riot started, Trump could not suppress mentioning the claims that inflamed the revolting outliers: “We had an election that was stolen from us. It was a landslide election and everyone knows it, especially the other side. … There’s never been a time like this where such a thing happened where they could take it away from all of us. From me, from you, from our country. This was a fraudulent election.” He concluded, “We love you. You’re very special. You’ve seen what happens. You see the way others are treated that are so bad and so evil. I know how you feel. But go home, and go home in peace.”

Moments later Trump reiterated on social media, “These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously and viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly and unfairly treated for so long.”

It was a week later that Trump finally denounced the violence: “Mob violence goes against everything I believe in and everything our movement stands for. No true supporter of mine could truly endorse political violence. No true supporter of mine could ever disrespect law enforcement or our great American flag. No true supporter of mine could ever threaten or harass their fellow Americans. If you do any of these things, you are not supporting our movement. You are attacking it and you are attacking our country.”

But that was too little and much too late to contain the enormous political damage done to his administration’s legacy — and by extension to every one of us who have supported him for the last four years.

Once the Senate reconvened, Mike pence declared, “Let’s get back to work.” Sen. Chuck Schumer added: “As we reconvene tonight, let us remember, in the end, all this mob has really accomplished is to delay our work for a few hours. The most important thing is that we resolved and we were not going to let the insurrectionists have their way. Today’s events did not happen spontaneously. The president who promoted conspiracy theories that motivated these thugs, The president who exhorted them to come to our nations capital. This mom but was in good part, President Trump’s doing. Incited by his words, his lies.”

For the record, regardless of what Trump said or did not say on 06 January, it is the riotous Capitol jackasses, and other fringe elements across the nation that identify with their actions, who are directly to blame for the damage inflicted on all conservatives. But Trump’s “stolen election” protests were, and will remain, irrevocably tied to the Capitol riot, and by extension all of us who have supported him.

The self-aggrandizing jackasses who defiled our nation’s Capitol building managed to defile the standing and reputation of every Liberty-loving and law-abiding conservative across our nation. Their obscene actions have demeaned all Americans who have supported Trump administration policies over the last four years. Their narcissistic lack of self-awareness has done more to undermine the long list of Trump administration policy successes and advance the leftist agenda than anything Democrats could have hoped for in their wildest aspirations. The Capitol riot was the most profoundly reckless behavior by those claiming to be “conservatives” that I have witnessed in decades. And the consequences have been and will continue to be devastating.

Their actions provided the opening for Democrats and their Leftmedia parrots to paint ALL Trump administration supporters with the disgraceful actions of a fringe few, thus branding almost half the nation as riotous thug sympathizers.

Trump supporter, Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA), who voted against certification of the election results, and was in the building when protestors entered, lamented of the Capital protestors: “I was angry, I was so mad. I thought this was the dumbest thing, and I say that from a Republican perspective. How could they be so stupid.”

Democrats and their MSM parrots are now referring to the Capitol rioters as “Domestic Terrorists, and predictably, are casting that net over ALL conservatives — anyone who has supported the Trump administration’s policies, while most assuredly not his personality.

To enhance the theatrical optics around the upcoming Trump impeachment farce, Demos are now feigning demands for permanent barriers around Capital building to protect them against these "Trump terrorists.”

And Demos are baiting and beggin for more violence, describing the DC riot not what it was, but claiming it is part of an “insurrection” which, by extension, implicates more than 100-million other Americans — precisely their objective.

The riotous jackasses have also provided Democrats a smokescreen cover to consolidate power for their legislative agenda. And the Demos will continue to foment more division, anger, and violence, which they will continue to hang around Republican necks ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.

The rioters’ actions are also being used as justification for the BigTech purge of conservatives, the “systemic redlining” of our First Amendment rights.

The Demo response certainly does not exemplify the “unity theme” promised by the Biden/Harris regime.

That is the fallout of the actions of a few hundred riotous jackasses. It will take a long time to recover from their idiocy, and that time will be extended by any similar actions of their likeminded ilk across the nation.

The Capitol riot met with unequivocal condemnation from conservatives. Fact is, we hold those who represent (or claim to represent) Liberty to a much higher standard.

Of course, there was no such universal condemnation from the Left or its Leftmedia propagandists regarding the burn, loot, and murder mobs across the country over the last seven months. The Demo/Leftmedia Capitol condemnation has, of course, been colossally disproportionate.

How disproportionate? According to political analyst Conrad Black: “Approximately 50 people were killed, 700 police officers were injured, and over $2 billion in property damage was done by vandals and arsonists, none of whom, as far as could be deduced, cared a fig about George Floyd. The Democratic National Convention declined to mention these riots; they were simply put out of mind.”

However, as I have written many times, if not for double standards, Democrats would have no standards — and clearly they have double standards for rioters. As historian Victor Davis Hanson notes, the nation has endured “100 days of torching federal court houses and police precincts, 700 policeman injured, 40 people dead, $4-$5 billion in damages…”

But Democrats have finally found a riot they could condemn. As my libertarian college-age son noted, “Apparently, a few hours of angry disruption in the headquarters of the nation’s largest business (Congress) is far more important than months of rioters destroying small businesses nationwide, costing thousands of Americans their livelihoods and some, including police officers, their lives.”

Note how radical Leftist chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff, described the riot: “One week ago, the president incited an insurrection against Congress to prevent the peaceful transition of power. It was the most dangerous moment for our democracy in a century. Today we invoke the remedy the founders provided for just such a lawless president, impeachment. More important today we begin the long road to restoration. America has been through a Civil War, World Wars, a Great Depression, pandemics, McCarthyism, and now a Trumpist and white nationalist insurrection. And yet our democracy endures.”

So according to the delusional Adam Schiff, the Capitol riot was “the most dangerous moment for our democracy in a century.” He is out of his mind, but the rhetoric he is using is callously calculated to invite more violence. And it is being parroted by the Biden/Harris regime and their Leftmedia propagandists, and protected from censure by their BigTech backers.

Demos are using the Capitol riot to consolidate power and as fodder to cancel anyone who ever backed Trump. They are fomenting more division, anger, and violence, which they can continue to hang around Republican necks ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.

As political analyst Matt Walsh notes: “If Trump’s speech on Wednesday rises to the level of ‘incitement’ then many Democrats are guilty of the same during the BLM riots. How about this deal: all of the Dems guilty of ‘incitement,’ by their own standard, resign. Then we’ll listen to the impeachment case against Trump.”

Indeed, Demos have used much more inflammatory language than anything Trump said on 06 January.

Despite this dangerous leftist tar and feathering, for perspective, here is some good news moving beyond the Capitol riots: Despite all the handwringing about political divisions on the right, the split over support for Trump, the personality. There is no split over support for the Trump administration’s considerable and lengthy record of domestic and foreign policy successes. As Biden and his Democrats endeavor to undo those policies that will have the net effect of further unifying conservatives going into the 2022 midterms.

FOOTNOTE: Regarding all those leftist hyperbolic claims about the protest and riot being an “armed insurrection,” it was no such thing. In a review of the hundreds of arrests associated with the protest outside the Capitol building and the destructive riot inside the building – most being misdemeanor trespassing or disorderly conduct charges, researcher Julie Kelly has found only two firearms charges (violations of DC’s restrictive gun-control regulations) and there is no evidence either of those individuals was ever in the building.
