Friday: Below the Fold

Trans-helping judge fails confirmation, Elon Musk backs conservative media, Barack Obama is behind the coup, and more.

Government & Politics

  • Trans-helping judge fails Senate confirmation: For the first time in his presidency, one of Joe Biden’s judicial nominees failed to make it through the Senate Judiciary Committee. By a vote of 11-10, the committee rejected Judge Sarah Netburn for full Senate consideration thanks to Georgia Democrat Senator Jon Ossoff, who sided with Republicans in tanking the controversial judge. The controversy surrounding Netburn had to do with her embrace of gender-confusion ideology to the point that she approved a transfer request to a female prison for a male inmate (who, at the age of 51, suddenly decided he was a woman) serving a 15-year sentence for raping a child. Netburn put “political ideology over justice and reality,” Texas Senator Ted Cruz observed before the vote. “This judge also ruled in effect that female prisoners have no rights.”

  • Musk fights censorship, backs conservative media: Woke brands and advertisers are colluding to silence Elon Musk, Joe Rogan, and conservative political candidates and news organizations. More specifically, as our Nate Jackson reported yesterday regarding a new report from the House Judiciary Committee, the World Federation of Advertisers, through its Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) initiative, is organizing “large corporations, advertising agencies, and industry associations [to participate] in boycotts and other coordinated action to demonetize platforms, podcasts, news outlets, and other content deemed disfavored by GARM and its members.” Musk, in Musk-like fashion, is fighting back. “Having seen the evidence unearthed today by Congress,” he posted, “X has no choice but to file suit against the perpetrators and collaborators in the advertising boycott racket. Hopefully, some states will consider criminal prosecution.”

  • Garland contempt resolution/fine rebuffed: By a vote of 204-210, the House rejected a resolution brought by Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in “inherent contempt.” Had the resolution passed, Garland would have been subject to a daily fine of $10,000 until he turned over the audio recording of Joe Biden’s interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur regarding Biden’s mishandling of classified documents. Hur elected not to pursue prosecution against Biden partly due to his assessment that Biden’s memory was “significantly limited.” While a transcript of the interview was provided to House Republicans, Garland refused to provide the audio recording even after being subpoenaed. Despite the public now being widely aware of Biden’s diminished state following his disastrous debate with Donald Trump, seeking the audio is not a moot point, as checking it against the transcript could provide a window into just how much the Biden administration has been involved in covering up Biden’s mental decline from the American public.

  • Biden hasn’t had a full cabinet meeting since last October: Biden’s panicky party is intent on ousting him. The long knives are out, and a steady stream of damaging leaks and revelations is in the offing. For example, we learned yesterday that Biden hasn’t had a full cabinet meeting since October 2, and that when he does interact with his senior team members, those interactions are “pre-scripted and carefully choreographed — with aides going over questions and discussion points with Cabinet secretaries ahead of time.” As one Brutus told CNN: “The entire display is kind of an act. They would come and say, ‘Hey, the president is going to call on you about 25 minutes in, and ask this question. What are the bullet points you’ll respond with?’” So much for ol’ Scranton Joe being so alert, so clear-eyed, and so inquisitive during these behind-the-scenes meetings. Asked about the CNN report, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack insisted that this sort of thing is “standard practice for any administration.” Uh-huh. We can just imagine the same goings-on in an Obama or Trump administration.

  • Obama is behind the coup, and Biden knows it: We’ve always known that Barack Obama was a sleazy, conniving, leftist scumbag, but it’s nice to get the occasional validation just the same. There was that moment when he diabolically led his cognitively addled “friend” off the stage, as well as The Daily Caller’s report: “Obama allies have pounced on Biden as the president and his team strive to maintain his standing as the presumptive Democratic nominee following his disastrous debate performance. The Biden campaign and ‘Democratic officials’ suspect Obama himself is behind the effort, [said MSNBC hack and longtime Biden water-carrier Joe Scarborough], adding he believes it will backfire.” Here, it’s worth remembering that Barack cleared the deck for Hillary Clinton to run in 2016, thereby denying his two-term veep and lifetime presidential aspirant his shot at the White House. And that he once famously warned us, “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f*** things up.” So much for the Big Guy’s boastful claim that “No one f***s with a Biden.”

Leftmedia

  • Maddow’s “false reporting” may cost MSNBC $30M: Back in 2020, Rachel Maddow, along with other hosts on the Leftmedia outlet MSNBC, dubbed a Georgia doctor the “Uterus Collector” in their reporting on dubious claims by a whistleblower that Dr. Mahendra Amin was performing unnecessary hysterectomies on detained illegal immigrants. Maddow characterized the claim as akin to Nazi Germany and the Jim Crow South. Following the reporting, Dr. Amin filed a $30 million defamation lawsuit against NBCUniversal, MSNBC’s parent company. The whistleblower’s claim proved to be unfounded, a court found, stating: “The undisputed evidence has established that … there were no mass hysterectomies or high numbers of hysterectomies at the facility.” Furthermore, documents show that MSNBC, including Maddow, knew that the whistleblower’s claims lacked credibility, but they chose to run with the story anyway. U.S. District Judge Lisa Godbey Wood recently ruled against NBCUniversal’s motion for a summary judgment to avoid a jury trial. If found guilty, NBCUniversal could be on the hook for a ton of cash, with MSNBC’s already poor credibility being further damaged.

  • A devastating reminder at next week’s RNC: Illegal immigration is foremost among the election-year concerns of the American people, and it’s an issue that overwhelmingly favors Donald Trump and hurts our open-borders incumbent and his absentee “border czar” veep. But where this issue is brought home most viscerally is where it concerns violent crime perpetrated by illegals against American citizens. One such victim, Rachel Morin, a mother of five, was allegedly raped and murdered by a Salvadoran illegal last August, and her family members have reportedly accepted an invitation from Donald Trump to attend the upcoming Republican National Convention. “This is a huge honor because I want to make an impact in Rachel’s name,” said Morin’s half-sister, Erin Layman. “I want to give Rachel the proper honor in all of this and for people to know our story and see our family together.”

  • U.S. Army base labels pro-life groups as “terrorists”: Fort Liberty, formerly Fort Bragg, is the world’s largest military institution with a population of over 52,000. Recently, Army personnel at the base were given a training seminar in which two prominent, long-established pro-life groups, National Right to Life and Operation Rescue, were classified as “terrorist groups.” During the seminar, a slide included a list of common tactics used by these activists, including “demonstrations and protest,” “truth display,” “picketing,” “sidewalk” counseling, and crisis pregnancy centers. The slide also showed the commonly available “Choose Life” license plate. After images were leaked, the Fort Liberty Garrison Public Affairs Office claimed that the slides “were not vetted by the appropriate approval authorities, and do not reflect the views of the XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Liberty, the U.S. Army or the Department of Defense." The office further explained, "The slides were developed by a local garrison employee to train Soldiers manning access control points at Fort Liberty … [and] will no longer be used, and all future training products will be reviewed to ensure they align with the current DoD anti-terrorism guidance.”
