Failure to Communicate
Yes, we won the 2024 election, but the battle for America’s soul continues. Thankfully, the church still has an opportunity to step up.
Four years ago today, according to the media and Democrats (but I repeat myself), America suffered the most horrific terrorist event in U.S. history! It was worse than 9/11, Pearl Harbor, and the Civil War. For the next four years, right up to Election Day, the Left reminded America about just how terrible January 6 was and that Donald Trump was ineligible to be president for inciting an insurrection.
Yet on November 5, 2024, Trump was overwhelmingly reelected. Democrats have been scratching their heads ever since, asking, “How could this happen?”
It was a repeat of the 2016 election when Trump defeated Hillary Clinton. Forget that Hillary insulted half the country by calling Trump supporters “deplorables.” Forget that she was so unlikeable. She deserved her “turn” to be president just because she was a loyal Democrat foot soldier. Trump connected with normal people; Hillary, not so much.
For four years, Trump had to fight the Democrat Party, the intelligence community, Hollywood, academia, and the entire Leftmedia. Don’t forget the establishment Republicans who didn’t have the courage to back Trump, resulting in losing the House in 2018.
Then came the 2020 COVID lockdowns, during which schools and commerce were shuttered, but “essential” businesses like abortion clinics, liquor stores, and casinos were kept open. Oh, and Black Lives Matter riots were also deemed “essential,” apparently. With Democrats around the nation changing voting guidelines and millions of bulk-mail ballots being sent out, Trump lost in 2020. He was finished. That is until 2022, when he announced his candidacy for 2024.
Next came the “lawfare” cases, as Democrats feared he might win. The entire weight of the federal government was unleashed on Trump, followed by two failed assassination attempts. Then came the unthinkable: Trump beat Kamala Harris, who was a worse candidate than Hillary. Today, the media is still trying to figure out what happened.
From my simple grassroots perspective, I believe the majority of Americans no longer believe anything the mainstream media says. They don’t see Trump as Hitler. Trump wasn’t the one trying to “overthrow democracy.” January 6, 2021 — with the exception of those few who were violent — was a non-event. The media can no longer be trusted to tell the truth.
Our Founding Fathers thought honesty and character were important. As Thomas Jefferson explained it in 1785, “There is no vice so mean, so pitiful, so contemptible; and he who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world’s believing him.”
Biden lied. Harris lied. Democrat Party politicos, Hollywood, academia, and the media all lied to the point that no one believed them anymore. Joe Biden ran circles around his staff. “Sharp as a tack,” they said. “On top of his game,” they added. These lies were exposed during the presidential debate. The emperor had no clothes. America could not unsee Biden’s cognitive decline.
Corrupt politics is simply a reflection of a corrupt culture. The culture became corrupt when the church abandoned its role in influencing it for Christ. Yes, we won the 2024 election, but the battle for America’s soul continues. There is a fight ahead. The church still has an opportunity to step up and be Christ’s representative to a lost, confused, addicted, and hopeless society.
In my community, dozens of churches will join together for 21 days of prayer and fasting for our city and our nation. I challenge you to do the same where you live so that in 2028, we won’t be asking ourselves, “What happened?” Character and integrity still matter!
Something to pray about!
