Trump Executive Orders: Anti-Woke Edition

As part of restoring sanity to the White House, President Donald Trump addresses gender and DEI.

On Monday, President Donald Trump signed a plethora of executive orders. As part of his plan to restore common sense and a government based on reality, a few EOs sought to bolster women’s rights and eradicate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the federal government.

In his inaugural address, Trump declared, “This week, I will also end the government policy of trying to socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life. We will forge a society that is colorblind and merit-based. As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders: male and female.”

It’s utterly ridiculous that this obvious biological fact needs to be stated, much less subject to an executive order, but thanks to the radical Left giving a tiny portion of the population a bully pulpit, it does. While affirming the delusions of mentally disturbed individuals might seem virtuous, it’s actually doing them a great disservice.

Here’s what the EO addressing two genders states:

Across the country, ideologues who deny the biological reality of sex have increasingly used legal and other socially coercive means to permit men to self-identify as women and gain access to intimate single-sex spaces and activities designed for women, from women’s domestic abuse shelters to women’s workplace showers. This is wrong. Efforts to eradicate the biological reality of sex fundamentally attack women by depriving them of their dignity, safety, and well-being. The erasure of sex in language and policy has a corrosive impact not just on women but on the validity of the entire American system. Basing Federal policy on truth is critical to scientific inquiry, public safety, morale, and trust in government itself.

When the rights of others — in this case, women — are violated, it is not justice. Transgenderism infringes upon the rights of women to have their own intimate spaces and sports, as well as to have protection from predation from deluded males.

This EO is also in line with the sentiments of the majority of Americans. According to a recent New York Times poll, 79% of respondents objected to men in women’s sports, and 90% rejected the notion of allowing minors younger than 15 to undergo a transgender medical intervention.

President Trump also addressed the injustice of DEI. Consequently, every single DEI hire at the federal level will be placed on paid leave by later today. It was especially appropriate to take such executive action on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

In MLK’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech, he advocated for a colorblind society while also warning about the politics of vengeance. “There is something that I must say to my people who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice,” he explained. “In the process of gaining our rightful place, we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.”

DEI, which put the tenets of critical race theory into practice, is exactly what King warned about. That ideology uses hatred and bitterness to create an intersectional hierarchy based solely on perceived victimhood. DEI isn’t colorblind; it’s prejudiced against white people, Asian people, straight people, and men. A heterosexual white male is the worst sort of oppressor, according to DEI, and therefore, must be overlooked in favor of a person with more victimhood credit. This neo-Marxist idea is borne out of the same culture of envy that makes Marxism so dangerous and deleterious to human thriving.

Merit should be the measure by which a person is judged. Or, as King put it, “the content of their character.” Lord knows that government is inefficient enough without putting incompetent DEI hires in charge of important departments. Just ask California how DEI has been working out.

While it’s clear President Trump is hitting the ground running, one can only hope that some of these executive actions are taken up by Congress and put into law. This will lend more durability and stability in protecting the next generation of Americans.
