Monday Executive News Summary
Kier Starmer resigns, DOJ probes MLB, new Air Force One, majority of Americans approve Iran ceasefire, Medicare scammer caught, and more.
UK PM Starmer resigns
United Kingdom Prime Minister Kier Starmer has resigned after two years of leadership riddled with criticism from political enemies and political allies alike. Starmer leads the Labour Party, which has performed disastrously in recent local elections. Starmer will remain in place until a new Labour leader is chosen following a nomination process that begins on July 9. That will almost certainly be Andy Burnham, a politician who was recently reelected to Parliament on a promise to replace Starmer. Until Burnham’s recent election, Starmer had steadfastly refused calls to step aside as PM, including for another potential replacement, Wes Streeting. Hilariously, Starmer suggested in his resignation speech that his successor “will inherit a Britain that is far stronger and fairer than the one I inherited.” Starmer is known as “two-tier Kier.”
NYT runs “trans dad” article on Father’s Day
Woke is not dead. The New York Times, that leftist rag struggling to revive the archaic Leftmedia, published a guest essay on Father’s Day celebrating gender-confused women. The story centered on one person’s successful attempt to brainwash a child into accepting her, a woman on testosterone, as a type of “man.” The ghoulish story features cartoon panels where the “trans dad” and child discuss “dad’s” past as a woman and gender-mutilating top surgery, followed by the child spreading the mental poison to other kids on a playground. Amusingly, it also suggests that “trans” people fly under the radar and those around them are unaware of their demonic attempt to rewrite their sex until after being told about it. The New York Times wants American children to accept that men can be women and that fathers can give birth.
DOJ launches religious discrimination probe into MLB
In response to Major League Baseball warning three San Francisco Giants players that they face potential discipline over their recent writing of Bible verses on their rainbow-emblazoned “Pride Night” caps, the Justice Department announced it has opened an investigation into the matter. Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division Harmeet Dhillon explained that MLB was under investigation for religious discrimination. “The Civil Rights Act prohibits MLB and its franchises from unreasonably burdening the rights of players with religious objections to serving as the League’s vehicle for pro-Pride messages,” Dhillon wrote in a letter to Commissioner Rob Manfred. “Federal law is clear: employers must modify their uniform requirements to reasonably accommodate their employees’ exercise of religion.”
New Air Force One
On Friday, President Donald Trump unveiled the new Air Force One — a newly retrofitted, $400 million Boeing 747-8 gifted to the U.S. by Qatar. The plane includes a new red, white, navy blue, and gold livery, dispensing with the iconic light blue livery first introduced during the Kennedy administration. Trump, who has long expressed frustration with the slow pace of replacing the aging Boeing 747-2 models currently serving as Air Force One, praised the new plane, stating, “There will never be one like this. This is very unique. This is considered the world’s most luxurious plane.” The Air Force noted that the new, larger plane is “safe, secure and equipped with the most advanced technologies necessary to meet the requirements of the presidential mission.”
Majority of Americans approve Iran ceasefire
While numerous bipartisan objections have been raised in Congress to President Trump’s memorandum of understanding with Iran, recent polling shows that the majority of Americans favor ending the conflict. According to a Quantus poll of likely voters conducted last week, 56% approved of the MOU, compared with 13% disapproval. Despite the majority approval of the MOU, Trump’s overall approval numbers remain underwater: 56% disapproval to 43% approval. Trump highlighted the poll on Truth Social, writing: “OIL IS FLOWING, IRAN CAN NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON (THE WORLD WILL BE SAFE!), THE STOCK MARKETS ARE ROARING, JOBS ARE AT RECORDS, AND PRICES ARE DROPPING (AFFORDABILITY!). OUR COUNTRY IS STRONG, SAFE, AND RESPECTED LIKE NEVER BEFORE. ‘YOU’RE WELCOME!’ President DJT.”
Medicare scammer caught
A second criminal on FBI Director Kash Patel’s Most Wanted Fraudsters list has been arrested by the bureau. Sixty-year-old Herbert Leon Kimble failed to appear for his sentencing hearing in August 2024 after pleading guilty in 2019 to conspiracy to defraud the United States, healthcare fraud, wire fraud, mail fraud, making false claims, and offering kickbacks and bribes. Kimble ran a massive scheme from 2014 to 2019 that mainly targeted the elderly and generated $1.2 billion in Medicare charges. These arrests are the result of Trump’s task force and the creation of the National Fraud Enforcement Division, led by Vice President JD Vance, to crack down on fraud. The task force partnered with the FBI to compile and publish the Most Wanted Fraudsters list, which helped authorities in the Philippines to locate and apprehend Kimble.
Prominent illegal alien finally removed from Maryland voter list
Maryland has bowed to pressure and admitted that an illegal alien had successfully registered to vote in the state. The state has now finally purged Ian Andre Roberts from its voter rolls after he was sentenced to two years in federal prison for gun possession and lying about his citizenship to become a superintendent in Iowa. Maryland had refused calls to purge Roberts even after his arrest and despite the fact that he had moved away from the state a decade ago. Leftists continue to insist that voter fraud is extremely rare and a nonissue, but an illegal alien remaining a registered voter a decade after leaving a blue state undermines that claim.
Border update
For the 13th straight month under the Trump administration, zero illegal aliens apprehended at the southern border have been released into the country. By fulfilling his campaign promise to secure the southern border, President Trump has largely eliminated the issue from public consciousness, which ironically may cause Republicans pain in the upcoming midterm elections. Americans likely forget that under the derelict Biden administration, thousands of illegals were apprehended daily. Eighty-five percent of those illegals were then released into the United States. The low border crossing attempts are allowing Trump’s Customs and Border Patrol to refocus on counter-drug enforcement strategies, saving lives.
Wisconsin Supreme Court dumps discrimination
The left-leaning Wisconsin Supreme Court issued a unanimous ruling last week, striking down the state’s race-based Minority Undergraduate Retention Grant Program. The court found that the program violated the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. It would appear that, thanks to the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent ruling against race-based programs, even a Democrat-controlled court is getting in line on this fundamental issue. Race-based discrimination in favor of minorities is still a violation of antidiscrimination laws.
