Barack Obama made it an administrative priority to “invest” large amounts of taxpayer money into electric car manufacturers – to save the planet from “climate change,” of course. And recall in 2011 when he foretold, “[America will] become the first country to have a million electric vehicles on the road by 2015.” Those calculations are slightly off track. According to CNSNews, “all-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles … accounted for less than half of one percent of the 11.7 million light vehicles purchased in the U.S. during the last nine months.” In other words, we’ve got a long way to go to reach that one million threshold just 14 months away. This boondoggle is set to be just as successful as all those solar energy incentives.
