Demos Target IRS IG
"Not even a smidgen of corruption"?
Barack Obama once promised to get to the bottom of the IRS scandal, and leftist politicos echoed his supposed sentiment toward conservative groups being politically targeted. Of course, that was before the dust settled; Obama recently declared that there wasn’t “even a smidgen of corruption.” Now fellow Democrats are eyeing another target of their own – the person who penned the original investigative report last year. Reps. Matt Cartwright and Gerry Connolly have filed an ethics complaint against Inspector General Russell George, accusing him of “produc[ing] a fundamentally flawed performance audit of the activities of the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) Tax Exempt and Government Entities Division that harmed the public interest” and allegedly colluding with Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa. “Not even a smidgeon of corruption”? For the Left, corruption knows no bounds.
