Another Healthcare.gov Glitch
But Obama said it’s working the way it should.
Barack Obama recently boasted of ObamaCare, “I am absolutely confident that you will see millions of people benefitting from this law. It is working the way it should.” In reality, a plethora of problems continue to rock Obama’s signature achievement, and yet another hiccup was recently diagnosed that likely helped turn away potential prospects. The Fiscal Times explains: “The federal website central to Obamacare has been operating with a calculating error that could have negatively affected enrollment numbers, and no one seemed to know about it for nearly six months. … The health care law uses 2013 poverty guidelines to assess who qualifies for a subsidy. However, the website is using 2014 guidelines, which are 1.5 percent higher.” Because this flawed information is given before a purchasing decision is made, some low-income consumers may have been told they weren’t eligible for more subsidies.
