‘A Broken Record’
If only we had more federal money for jobs.
After five years of the Obama “recovery,” unemployment remains relatively stagnant. Jobs are being added to the economy, but far too slowly. So Barack Obama has the answer: more stimulus. That’s right, he has announced another $600 million for “job training” programs. National Review’s Veronique de Rugy highlights the problem, writing, “According to the Government Accountability Office, the federal government spends $18 billion a year on 47 duplicative job training programs across nine federal agencies. But the White House isn’t just adding to this host of repetitive rackets – it’s effectively creating a new program that will duplicate other programs already put in place at the state level.” Even Obama admitted that “we sometimes sound like a broken record” on the economy. He’s right, and somebody needs to stop the record player.
