Soak Up the Sun
Another day, another solar panel.
This weekend, the White House once again installed solar energy panels on the roof of the mansion that will generate enough juice, according to the Climate Change Dispatch, to power 22 light bulbs for 20 hours each day for the 132-room building. Cyrus Wadia, assistant director for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, said in a White House video the panels serve as “a symbol that America technology in solar is available, it’s reliable, and it’s ready for millions of Americans across the country.” But this is not the first time solar panels have graced the White House. Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush both dabbled with the technology during their terms. A new administration, a new set of panels. This time the installation comes weeks before the EPA will unveil draft regulation to curb carbon emissions, which will be just about as useful as the panels. More…
