The Antarctic’s Melting?
AP pens deceitful report.
The Leftmedia have remained deafeningly silent on Antarctica because of robust, and in some cases historic, ice growth. However, the Associated Press finally devoted a piece to the giant ice shelf this week, but for entirely wrong reasons. According to the AP, “The huge West Antarctic ice sheet is starting a glacially slow collapse in an unstoppable way, two new studies show. Alarmed scientists say that means even more sea level rise than they figured. The worrisome outcomes won’t be seen soon. Scientists are talking hundreds of years, but over that time the melt that has started could eventually add 4 to 12 feet to current sea levels.” Notice that the projected consequences are, as usual, punted hundreds of years down the road. And consider this: Ice concentration in the Southern Hemisphere is running more than 1.3 million sq. km. above average. Yet the AP claims (at the very end of the piece) that this “has little or no relation to the larger more crucial ice sheet.” Really, it has little or no relation to the alarmists’ narrative.
